Great book series
Perfect for my just 7 year old to read. My 5 year old loved the stories too. We read the whole series.

Great read-aloud for 4-5 year olds.
My 4 year old was getting tired of picture books (too short) but wasn't ready for long chapter books without many pictures. This book series is PERFECT with 10-12 chapters, pictures on every single page, and gripping stories. They're thrilling without being scary. He adores the entire series. We're sad that it has come to an end.

humorous text and drawings
My pre-reading grandsons love this series. The humor, kid heroes and drawings capture their attention.

Great for children who hate reading!
These branches series are great for kids. I have a son who hates reading and has some delays. He’s in 4th grade this year and I began homeschooling him at the beginning of the year. Getting him to read was always such a battle. A former teacher that I met by chance recommended the branches books to me. We started with eerie elementary, and he couldn’t put them down! It did this mama’s heart good seeing her baby actually interested and enjoying reading! He started reading one of these books a day and before we knew it went through the whole series. Then we started on the notebook of doom, and he loves them too. His reading level has skyrocketed and it was a gateway to him now picking out larger chapter books without pictures. His reading level has went up 3 levels this school year alone. Can’t say enough good things about these books.

Must read for young reluctant readers.
I feel like it has been pretty hard to find reading level appropriate books for my son that he gets excited about. When I found these Notebook of Doom books, I knew I had a winner! My son loves these books. He has all but one in his collection now. This series is tied for 1st (with Franny K Stein series and Dog Man) as his favorite books to read. We started reading these together when he was in 1st grade, he started reading them more on his own entering 2nd grade & is now entering 3rd and has been reading them 100% on his own for some time now. He connects with the characters and LOVES all the silly situations they get themselves into. I highly recommend these books.
