Great for hot and humid climates
Not as young as I once was working in the Florida summers has gotten harder. When the humidity is nearly 100% the extra cooling makes it possible to work outside. Since the packs freeze at around 55F it's not all like wearing water ice packs strapped to you, these are actually very comfortable. The vest makes it possible to work for about 2 hours as they claim without getting dizzy or sweating so bad my eyes sting. I'd give it a 5 star if not for the relatively high price of the packs.I bought a second vest for my helper and tried the sports vest. As it turns out he has a larger chest and fits the original vest better, I prefer the velcro straps and lighter weight of the sports vest. The original vest uses snap in buckles and take a bit longer to adjust. After about a dozen washing machine cycles the original vest is holding up a bit better than the lighter nylon sports vest.I initially ordered the flame retardant version as I plan to use it under a welding apron.

Your chest need to measure at least 42"
Even when adjusted to the smallest size, the jacket still measures 42" across the chest. To keep the body cool, the jacket must fit tightly so the ice pockets touches your T-shirt or whatever top you have on. The ice packs are good quality as is the jacket itself. But it would not keep you cool if the jacket is sized like a tent. The average chest size of the American male is between 38"-42". This huge jacket should carry some sort of size disclaimer.

Works as advertised
Packs last a couple of hours in an 85 degree active work environment. They refreeze in an ice chest with ice water as advertised.Easy to adjust for a good fit, 6/4 250 lb.Was expensive but works very well.

Great for heat intolerance in the desert
Got this for a family member with MS who lives in the desert and it's a big help for days when he wants to spend time outdoors without overheating

High quality product
Great product, great quality. Used for workplace in a shipyard with high exposure to welding environment in Virginia heat in 90-100 degrees. Stays cool for the morning. Ice packs needed to be refrozen at lunch time -high tech ice pack liquid freezes very quickly in cold water! Works great, but there is some feeling of extra weight, as expected, but can use less ice pack inserts to relieve. Shoulder structure and adjustable for is very comfortable for broad shoulders and chest.

Summer is back!
This vest has saved me. I have MS and have a hard time in the heat. With this vest I can actually go back out in the summer. I would definitely recommend this vest.

Not worth the money
It works for about a hr at around 90*outside and the colds packs need to be larger. If it wasn't for me being able to get ice around my job site it be worthless.

You get what you pay for - top of the line product that will last for years
I got what I paid for - not cheap, but high quality : stitching looks really robust. This is why I bought the fire retardant one instead of standard as it looks like it will take a bit more punishment over the next few years (beige looks slightly less naff then blue as well)It’s pretty cool to be able to put gel packs in the fridge and they come out ‘frozen’.I bought this for commuting on a motorbike in hot, humid peakhour traffic. Most motorbike cooling vests are evaporative, but that’s not going to cut it when I’m stuck still in a gridlock. The other option was to get ‘ice packs’ but they seemed bulky and cumbersome.I’m not going to win any fashion awards, but product is fit for purpose.
