Customer Service
When I received the drive, the wrong setup disk was sent. I had to call Customer Service to find out what was going on and why I was'nt able to go online. I was told someone from from technical support would call me back with support within 24 to 48 hours. After 48 hours and no return calls from support, I called Customer Service again and was told the same story again. 7 days later i called again and finally someone from support did call me back and she asked me what Version was on the setup disk. I told her and she said it was the wrong disk for the drivers i needed to setup my broadband connection. 3 days later i recieved the new disk and setup was done.

Headache free internet for about two days...
I had a cable internet connection, then switched to this device (purchased new from Amazon) to see if I could save some money and get away from the contracts, etc. After a few weeks of using this device, it has me running back to/knocking down the door of the big contract companies again. For what it's worth, the software and device are essentially fool-proof to install, and you can share your purchased airtime among as many computers as you wish so long as they all have the Ready Broadband software installed and have the USB device attached to whichever computer you wish to have connected at the time. The USB device came with a small disc to install the software from a cd-rom drive. You can also download the latest version of the software from the Ready Mobile/Broadband website. Account activation over the phone was automated - didn't have to talk to a rep, just pushed a few buttons and things were ready to go.Everything worked problem free for about two days. Then I started getting error messages every time I tried to connect. Ex: "The modem is already in use" "Device not connected". Or the device would automatically disconnect while I would be in the middle of viewing a video, typing an email, or simply surfing. The unexpected disconnections are frequent and frustrating when I have to reload a page (which knocks off more from my data balance) and start all over again from the beginning - I am in a major city where signal strength shouldn't be a problem. I often have to detach and reattach the USB device to get it recognized. Sometimes when restarting/reattaching, the Ready Broadband software freezes and locks up any open programs making me restart the whole computer.I've noticed for each time I load a page (not graphics loaded, just a simple text page or google), it takes off about 1-1.5 MB, even if the webpage content is less than that. For an approximately 9 minute youtube video, I got knocked down about 50 MB. This adds up extremely quickly and even for a very light internet user, your balance disappears quickly.Aside from the expected deductions, the way this keeps track of your balance is questionable. One day after disconnecting, I had 100 MB left. When I connected the next morning, it said I had 0!! I'm using the '0' balance right now, and have no idea if the software is correct or mistaken. I am able to have a connection right now even if it says I am in "negative" balance, but don't know how long that will last. I have no confidence the data balance is deducted correctly. This device is only for those who need it as a last resort for mobile broadband service. Do not think this will be a reliable replacement for your main home connection needs.

Not User Friendly
Not user friendly. Where do I start...I have a Windows 7 64-bit OS Dell 5521 Inspiron Laptop. I needed something quickly because there was no reliable Internet connection at the hospital since the Internet service there was unreliable. It turns out the card was even more unreliable.I made the mistake of not reading the unfavorable reviews; a mistake I will not make again. I thought the price was right and include initial time credit. Not worth the money and the nightmare of trying to install it made me want to throw it away, but thankfully I am able to return it to Amazon within 30 days for a full refund. The paper instructions to install don't even come close to how to install or any troubleshooting tips to get it done. It took trial and error for me to get it [and I was a computer programming major, too]. According to the enclosed instructions, you are to insert disc into drive before you insert the card. Did that.Several attempts to try and install it on my account set as administrator. Kept getting the message "Error: Access Denied....Administrative Privileges may be required." despite right-clicking "run as Administrator". The anti-virus and firewall were turned off, too. The message that Windows can't verify publisher came up four times and I pressed the install anyway options as the instruction sheet said. Tried several times to do this, but installation would stop with that error message.I had to get into the backdoor admin account [open "cmd" (start, type "cmd" and enter, right-click run as Administrator ) and type "net user administrator /active:yes"], reboot and log into the admin account which will show up on reboot, then turn off anti-virus and firewall before installing. I then right-clicked on the autorun.bat file to start as Administrator. At that point, installation went smoother, but still had to click the install anyway option when it came up. It will ask for which version of the card you have and the ESN number [directly under the second bar code right after "DEC:"]. At the end of installation, there is a check box to run it when you click "finish". This is when the card goes in. The interface shows up.Now this is where the frustration begins. I had the ESN, the PIN to add money to the account, and a credit card to purchase more time ready to go. I pressed "connect" and got "RAS error #678 account balance has been depleted and it disconnected me. I pressed the button to add money and entered the PIN and it was invalid. I called the phone number to try to activate it, but it wouldn't process. I used the "0" option to get a live person, but it was after business hours; whatever that meant because the message did not specify what the hours were. I went online to try it and it wouldn't recognize my ESN. There was no listed hours to contact a live person. The next day, I called the 800 number. The person on the other end was polite enough, but there was only so much he could do since tech support was unavailable. I gave him the ESN and pin number to add time. He had to create an account for me on his end and I was told I had to wait 24 hours before I could access the account to add funds with a credit card as the given in the package was invalid. At this point, I am not hopeful this will end well.24 hours later, still nothing. Customer service said tech support was unavailable and to call back again. I got fed up when I was told to try to reload the card, but told them I won't spend any further money on it until they address the issues of not being connected and the enclosed invalid time card. I tried to see if there was any useful information on the account created for me. None. The web site is essentially a store to purchase time and equipment. Like the customer service, the web site was also unhelpful.Really, I would never recommend this product. Run!

Review of Ready Broadband
At first I had a hard time getting this software to load and in the process of trying to get it installed, it frozed up my USB ports on my laptop and I had to take the computer in and have windows reinstalled. The computer repair place uploaded the software and broadband for me, and it's been working fine ever since.
