Very effective!!!
These tourniquets have been fantastic! Simple to use, and very effective. I use them on approximately 90% of my customers, simply because they are so quick and easy to use, and they are very efficient as a tourniquet. They are tight, and a few customers will tell you that they are too tight and they prefer a different tourniquet. I purchased both the standard and the extra large, just so I have options at the bedside and can choose the appropriate size for that particular patient. Also, this particular tourniquet has the ability to allow you to roll it down the patient’s arm toward the wrist and thereby concentrating the blood into the lower arm if you need to use a hand or wrist for an IV. It is versatile in that manner.I would absolutely purchase this product again. I am very happy with it!!

The Better Option
It is very effective in providing great options for IV establishment and also gives makes certain options appear that you didn't even know were there in the beginning. The BOA Band is MUCH better than a regular IV tourniquet and is much easier to place and remove with its quick release button in comparison to tying the regular tourniquet, and sometimes having to tie it again to get it right. The BOA Band will pinch the skin very easily if you aren't careful and ensure you lift it up a little more when connecting the ends of the band during placement. The BOA Band is also much tighter around the arm and patients often complain about it but I explain it'll only be temporary and it'll help establishing an IV quicker with less "fishing" around and they usually calm down about it. That being said, this band will also cause you to more easily blow a vein on the wrong person, so be aware that this isn't always the best option for every patient. I know there is a BOA XL, but on larger patients I have been placing this on the upper forearm and rolling it down for IV establishment in the hand/wrist and haven't had any issues with it, therefore I haven't had any necessity thus far for an XL band. Overall this has helped me very much and I highly recommend it.

Great product
Great value for the money. I disinfect and use it multiple time for hard sticks. Every medic should carry one. It’s small enough and light enough to easily fit in your pocket.

Constantly repurchasing
These are great for hard IV sticks. These are technically not reusable but I reuse them. With that being said: I gave it 4 stars bc they do break after a few months of reusing.

So much better than an elastic band.
The BOA works extremely well for what it was designed to do. I have used the BOA on multiple patients I plan to get the XL for patients that are too big for the regular sized BOA. My IV success rate has improved since I started using it and have found veins where the regular elastic band my department stocks I couldn't.

Amazing tool.
I bought this product because sometimes at work you need quick access in the trauma bay or during a code, let me tell you, the first day I brought it to work about 5 minutes into my shift, a trauma code was in route. PT had an IO placed but required a new line while another RN was attempting on the Right, I slide past my doc doing cardiac massage and placed this TQ on, rolled it, and dropped a 14g flawlessly. PT got the blood and medications and survived that chaos. Lost my TQ to the OR though... and since my team was amazed by the effectiveness, I just purchased 10 more.

But they are painful and actually really don't help that much at all
These I thought would be really helpful after a paramedic showed it to me by using it on a patient. But they are painful and actually really don't help that much at all. I've used each one only twice since buying them. Great concept but not helpful enough for those super hard sticks.
