Got it used. For the price it's great. I got tired of buying glass Presses over the years and eventually having the carafe break. I'm not buying or drinking from a plastic Press. This thing will last into the next century and still be functional. Most products made in 2015 won't last 5 years.

The noise will wake you up, not the coffee
when you push the plunger down, the stainless steel wall of the pitcher against the metal filter makes an obnoxious noise, similar to nails on a chalkboard. I threw it away since I missed the return deadline.

Hit an miss. I ordered one of these about a year ago, and it was fantastic - great quality and makes terrific coffee. Given that experience, I ordered a second for a vacation home, and was sorely disappointed. The filter on the second one allows large coffee grinds to enter the main compartment. I need to use a strainer while poring the coffee into my cup.
