The smell of this product is strong. Described as “citrus”, but maybe hints of that? It smells like the chemically-floral smell of gas station bathroom soap. This is something you’ll want to store in your garage or basement. However, even with all that intensity, it’s still 100 times better than the alternative.Due to circumstances, my sprayed dog had to come inside and wiped his skunked face all over my carpet. Any place he went, the odor stuck to it. I tried a lot of other masking products but this is the only one that instantly worked. I needed to respray a week later for emerging smells.This also worked semi well on the dog. Because he was sprayed on his face, I couldn’t really dowse the area. Instead I used an art paint brush to paint it on him. Waited 5 minutes. And then washed his face. It wasn’t a cure all but a good start.

WOW! This Skunk Off is AMAZING! Our two large outside dogs were directly hit by a skunk in the face the other night!! They had recently been sprayed and I had decided to do some research to find something to remove the skunk smell. I started to buy other products but found this and vets highly rated it so I decided to purchase it and just in time to try it out on my dogs when they got directly sprayed again in the face. My husband sprayed Skunk Off on a rag and wiped down our dogs and the skunk odor was immediately gone. We will definitely keep this stuff on hand for the next hit! Thank you for creating this spray!

It smells nice, but I was a little bit dissatisfied that it doesn’t work quickly.

After treating my dog’s skunked head and face using homemade hydrogen peroxide solution with limited success, I read about this product and ordered for next-day delivery. I saturated a clean sponge with the liquid and wet her skunked areas thoroughly. I rinsed it with clear water quickly, as the bottle didn’t mention the 3-5 minute setting time. Still worked very well. Left her coat smelling a little like old fashioned Ivory soap—about a million times better than skunk. So glad to have found this; highly recommend.

Our dogs got skunked on Saturday night. We didn't realize our Pug went to her bed and wiped herself off on there and it dripped onto the carpet. We threw away the bed but used this in the carpet and the smell went away almost immediately. It works.

Our full breed German Shepherd (95 pound dog) got sprayed in the very early AM hours of Saturday morning (1am) by a skunk. We purchased and it arrived same day. I used this product twice and by Sunday evening (about 36 hours since the incident) our Shepherd smells as if nothing happened! It is a strong fragrance of a product, but in my opinion, I would prefer to smell this any day over skunk smell.The trick to using this product: Get this product as soon as you can. In the meantime, try to get Nature’s Miracle deskunk spray. We used that for the first bath (he had a total of three) but it didn’t do as good a job at this product. When you do apply, DO NOT wet your dog first. Spray this directly on your dog, very liberally (which I know is hard because it costs so much, but if you want the smell to go away as soon as possible, apply liberally) and thoroughly massage it into your dog’s coat, I let it sit for 10-12 minutes, then I rinsed my dog very well. I then used a dog shampoo called Nature’s Miracle Supreme Odor Control (smells SO good!) and repeated this process again about 10 hours later when my dog was completely dry. After liberal application of this product for two baths, I still had about 30% of the bottle left over. Amazing.The results were clear: three baths (one with Nature’s Miracle and two with this product) and now no skunk smell. Thank you to the family who invented this. It’s for a premium price, and I would have liked to pay less, but you get what you pay for in my opinion.Side note: I found it awesome that you could use this for laundry. However, I used Nature’s Miracle lavender scent for our dog’s bedding and towels and that worked brilliantly. Trick is to squirt a good amount of Nature’s Miracle on the washable items before washing and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Throw it into the washing machine with regular detergent and two capfills of the liquid and use warm water on normal cycle. One time did it all. But, I think a large part of the reason was because I pretreated the fabrics with sprays and let it sit before putting in the laundry machine.Best of luck!Edit from brother: not as effective on sisters

Have had serval occasions to use this. Not only is it safe for your pets, you can spray it on furniture and in the air and it helps dissipate the smell quickly. I also soaked cotton balls with the skunk off and left several dishes around the room and it helped with the smell in the air. We bought the big jug because dogs seem to always want to chase the stinky kitties at the most inopportune time. Had friends over for dinner 3 days later and neither our dogs or our house smelled of skunk.

After two applications, the odour was 90% gone. Within 4 or 5 days it wasn't noticeable at all, unless we made a point of checking his muzzle at which time the odour was very faint.

Yes. When you get this bottle it is overpowering in its smell. That said: damn it works and it doesn’t smell that pungent once sprayed. Our dog chased a skunk under our low patio deck and was sprayed under there. Right in time for a beautiful heat wave that we couldn’t now enjoy outside because the stench was so bad. Took this bottle and sprayed everywhere we could think she got hit with spray (in and around our deck) and about 98% of the smell is gone now. Just gotta find that one last spot and this will have zapped it all away.

We live in the country and this is my go-to when my Lab gets skunked. Easy to use and neutralizes the smell right away.

The smell of this product is strong. It helps with the skunk smell. But between the skunk odour and this .. pretty nauseating. It really does work though
