Victory LapFDS-03 Starter Repair Kit

I used this starter repair kit for my Ford F-150 truck. It came well packaged. There were extra bushings for different models of vehicles, which I appreciated. All of the parts included were fully complete and in tact. It came with instructions that were simple to read and included diagrams. Everything was good quality and well made. My starter works better now than it ever has! This item saved me a minimum of $80 as a rebuilt starter would have cost me $100 minimum! Very happy with this product!

The first one was missing parts and looked used. The second one worked. The picture showed to have the brush holder but it did not. So I had to use the 30+ year old holder. Other than that it worked.

Worked really well to Rebuild PMGR Starter When I put it back together It spun up really well but would only Engage Flex Plate Flywheel sometimes. Took apart again and found that I lost the Little Metal ball that goes in the reduction gear assymbly. Stiil waiting to find out if the ball is available or what size it is so I can replace it. To future DIYer's Do not loose that metal Ball it is need for Thrust out of Bendix. I live and learn

Amazon put me on this starter rebuild kit after I had typed in all the vehicle specs., The jokes on me for not double checking and as a result i spent a week trying to fix my starter THAT WASNT EVEN BROKE! lolThe Taurus starter motor on certain years is directly below the OIL FILTER! Nice work ford engineers..4 Stars because it doesnt come nicely packed like the picture. Parts looked decent enough for the job though. Good luck! BTW Not to discurage mechanically inclined people but, I ended up breaking a stud internally on the starter, from taking it on and off so many times. I ended up buying a whole new starter localy. The worst part, you cant see thats its broke cause its broke inside! i just barely wiggles. so if your car doesnt start or only sometimes, its either that or you messed something else up! ;) cheers and good luck!

Easy to install with basic mechanical skills and common sense. My starter is working new again!

Great price compared to autoparts store.

The actual rebuild process was easier than getting the starter out of the car. The quality of this kit was exceptional. Glad I went this route rather than spending $130 to replace the starter.

This product is great. Wouldn't recommend for people with little experience with cars. Little hard to do. Put this kit on my 99 mustang v6 because of 2 things first my starter was cranking kind of slow but the battery would hold a charger for more than 3 days and after its bin running it would crank about the same. Second my starter wouldn't engage quick enough so it would grind on the flywheel but that doesn't exactly involve the kit but for some reason afterwards it doesn't grind as often but I ordered a solenoid to fix that. But kit is great with OEM grade parts.
