Dell DisplayPort (DP) to VGA Adapter Cable - RN699 / 0RN699 / CN-0RN699

I ordered this product for an eyefinity setup. I have two other monitors that are connected via HDMI and DVI. I ordered this product to utilize the displayport and I received it a few days ago. I plugged it in to a Radeon HD 5770 video card and then connected a regular vga cable to it and a monitor. It worked immediately and has been flawless for several days. The monitor goes into sleep mode perfectly and looks great. I opted for this particular item because of two main reasons: 1. It clips into the video card displayport and won't come out easily since you have to unclip it. 2. It isn't as bulky as some of the cheap ones; since it is a small cable I can move it from behind my PC tower so it doesn't make the tower stick out of my furniture.So far it is working flawlessly. Will update this review if it ever goes bad. I would give it a 4.5 because it is pretty expensive but the shipping was free and extremly fast so 5 stars it is!

I'd bought a cheapo 2 dollar adapter with no dongle previously which was very bulky and died after a few days. I got another one, and it actually snapped in half when putting it in the computer which sent display port pins flying...So I went ahead and dropped the 25 bucks for a cable which I don't like to do but it was worth it for this cable.1. The display port locking mechanism does not require insane amounts of force and the button to release the lock is very convenient.2. The VGA end is small for a VGA adapter and didn't take any more space then a regular VGA cable.3. Dongle is exactly 3 inches in length.4. Perfect quality displaying to a 24 inch 1080p monitor.5. No flickering/setup issues, literally plug and play.Overall I would recommend this and not to skimp out on a cheaper alternative.

I replaced an old flat screen monitor and wanted to put it to use. Since I am already running a second monitor off my Lenovo ThinkPad via VGA, I used this connector to run a second display through the DisplayPort. Plug and play - worked like a charm.The only issue I've encountered is that sometimes when the screen saver kicks in, then you move the mouse, the screen through the DisplayPort doesn't come on. Locking and unlocking the machine usually takes care of it. A minor annoyance, and I'm not sure if it's the adapter, the machine, or the old monitor (I suspect the latter.)

I got the item relatively fast and it looks like the image provided by the seller. However I don't believe the brand of the product is Dell as it has no logos nor does it have an item serial number that resemble ones from Dell. What is labeled on the item is "Amphenol" on both connecting ends of the item. If it was manufactured by or for Dell, I think the quality of the item would have been higher. But it seems to work well and does its job. Unfortunately I needed a Mini DisplayPort.. so I'll have to buy another adapter!

Despite being a Dell original adapter, I was not able to get the highest resolution of the 23" Samsung TV I hooked to my laptop's docking station.I mean, it worked up to a certaing resolution, but ran into sync problems when trying to configure the highest resolution the TV supports.I ended up ordering a Dell DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, which solved my problem.

Cable worked great out of the box. Was using this for a dual monitor set up and none of the other adapters I had worked/fit, because my card has 3 slots but none of them are VGA. Everything worked great, which was a relief after going through many DOA cables. Finally went online to buy this, got it over some of the cheaper ones because it has an extension. Worked perfectly for my setup, the extension (the like, extra inch between VGA and DisplayPort) is perfect because I was running out of space back there. Would buy again. Been using it without problem for about 2 weeks now.

This adapter worked well for me. I needed a Display Port to VGA adapter for my HP laptop since the VGA port on the laptop isn't working well at all. HP couldn't figure it out either. This adapter allows me to connect to a projector, VGA (RGB) monitor, etc. Good quality. It is not flimsy.
