Liked the design and a little better quality than the cheaper ones.
We haven't had it very long yet but were pleased with the quality for the price. There were other umbrellas that were cheaper but decided to go with this one because of the way it's built and description sounded like better quality. It operates very smoothly and we like that it can rotate so we don't have to move it. It definitely needs weights but the all do. We found cement patio tiles that were low enough to still be able to rotate the umbrella. They were lighter weight so we just added some smaller tiles on top and left the area for rotating open. We're very happy. Looks great.

took a while to review
This was purchased very late in the season of 2019 when our previous umbrella came apart. We used it only a very short time in 2019 before putting it away for the winter. We got it back out and I can truly say 2020 is it's year......sort of okay, parts of it are off, and I only expect it to last just so long. It was easy enough to assemble and to raise and lower the canopy. Anything more than a gentle breeze threatens to send it twisting off the deck, despite the concrete paving blocks and planter boxes we have weighing it down. It has already thrown the blocks and twisted the metal base in wind that barely moved the flags in the neighborhood. I am prepared to start shopping for it's replacement because I know it's not going to last much more than another summer, if that. But it was fairly reasonably priced, and was available when we needed one. Next time, I'm going to do better research.

Massive Umbrella
I bought this umbrella for our large patio. It arrived in a really large rectangle box, it was pretty heavy. I had my husband put it together. There was minimal assembly required. Basically the stand area is all that needed to be assembled. The umbrella is placed in the stand and a screw is underrated and that was it. The stand itself has holes in it so you can bolt it to the deck floor. The stand not bolted down is not heavy enough to hold the umbrella down. The umbrella is massive when extended out. It’s very nice. The metal and pieces are durable once put together. It is easy to extend the umbrella and put it up to top height. My husband is 5’11 and the bottom almost touched his head when extended and pushed all the way up. We are happy with the umbrella and plan on sitting under it for many sunny days while we watch people play golf in the backyard.

DO NOT PURCHASE.
UPDATE: DO NOT PURCHASE. After storing this indoors for the fall and winter seasons, we took it out for 2020 spring and summer (purchased in July, 2019). It has almost collapsed on us several times and is not good, strong quality. Much flimsier than we'd expected it to be. The threads that hold the umbrella arms in place are also already tearing. The pedal to rotate the umbrella is too low. You cannot properly place all 4 umbrella weights (which are not included) because of its positioning. This is tough when placing the umbrella on concrete or any surface we can't drill it into.

Great for the price.
For the price this is a great choice. Easy to assemble, I'm 110 lbs and managed it on my own. Looks great on our deck. Sturdy as long as you bolt it to the deck or buy a base weight. You will definitely need to do one or the other. We bought a circular weight that we filled with sand. Holds it well but the pedal used to swivel the umbrella is now hidden under the sand bag. Not something that bothers us but you may want to find another solution if this bothers you. Highly recommend.

Best Deck Umbrella Ever
This is the third season I've used this umbrella on my deck. It looks virtually brand new, no fading of the fabric at all. The mechanism to open, close, and tilt works flawlessly. The ability to rotate provides shade throughout the day. If anything were to happen to it I would purchase another without a moments hesitation.

Great umbrella
We bought 2 of these, one for each side of our very long deck. They work great and they look great. Once it is put together (just follow the directions), it is very easy to handle. The base we bought had to be modified to fit the bottom lever, but it is worth it to have the ability to swing it around. You definitely need a weighted base (or to secure it to the ground), unless you live somewhere with no wind.

Sail away....
I read the other reviews and tried to keep an open mind but....if you’re going to use this daily and never take it down get a commercial grade umbrella. This umbrella is really short too. I’m only 5’1” and think it hangs too low. The frame is light aluminum and the umbrella is heavy so it’s ALWAYS falling over even with an upgraded heavy base.
