The answer is...quite stupid, really.I've grabbed hot coals. I've grabbed hot greats. I've grabbed hot logs. Basically, if you don't try to palm the fiery object and hold it for an extended length of time, you won't feel a bit of heat. Please note that you CAN burn yourself while wearing these, as I have gone shooting past "quite stupid" to "seriously idiotic" regarding grabbing fire while wearing these gloves. but I have all my fingers and no scars...so that's nice.As for fit, I have average hands, and there's plenty of room in them. If you have big meaty paws, these should stretch to fit, but I imagine your level of "fire stupid" should be dialed back a bit due to the fabric being stretched some.Good luck. Good grilling. And good God, don't be completely stupid.

....the oven or BBQ. I like that they go way up on the wrist. I've used these to remove heavy hot cast iron cookware from the oven and did not feel any heat on my hand, in spite of having to grip hard to hold a heavy object. Gloves are so much better than a traditional pot holder because you have control. You don't have to worry about re positioning your hand on a holder when removing something, so no worries about burning yourself or dropping whatever you are holding. The only thing I did not like is that I receives two of the same glove instead of a right and left as shown in their pic. They are made to work with either side, but looks dumb with one hand having the purple pattern on the inside and the other on the outside.

Pay attention to the product description!!They do not protect for long. My fingers have gotten too hot simply trying to get cookie sheets out of the oven. I bought this product because I thought it would be right up my ally. I know this product says it’s for BBQ handling and rated up to 932 degrees so I assumed it would be able to help me in the kitchen. I love to bake! I bake everything from homemade bread, sauces, jam, cookies, dog and cat treats, you name it I have baked it or plan to bake it. I’m always opening my oven to rotate pans or having to stir inside the oven. Traditional pot holders and mitts always seem to be too large and either not allow me to grip the said item or gets in the said product. Thought this would eliminate all of that since it would give me the ability to feel the pan or grip it without worry of my item being flattened or dropped because of heat. This item allows to me to grip and move just like I expected and that is why I gave 3 stars instead of 1. If it wasn’t for that ability I would rate it as a (1) because my hands and fingers get way too hot/burned inside the glove just from an oven at 350 degrees! I figured I would use the product for the description and BBQ with them, same results happened when trying to sauce my ribs on the grill. My hands got way, way to hot and had to go back to my cumbersome oven mitts to complete the process. Great effort on the designers part, too bad it doesn’t hold up to the heat. I am willing to re-try an improved heat resistant product from these makers but for the time being these gloves will go back in my drawer and saved as a last resort.

Picked up a pair after my wife burnt her hand on a cookie sheet coming out of the oven with a mitt that didn't perform.Wanted to protect her. Read the reviews and ordered. My wife likes to make frittatas in a cast iron skillet. A few moments on the stove, then into a 350° until done.Using these gloves, I was able to take the skillet out of the oven and comfortably hold it in my hands. Felt no heat passing through. Would buy another pair without reservation.Not rating ease of cleaning because it is still brand new clean, but I don't see any issues with that.

So, first of all, I'd like to mention that like other people looking for this type of item, I was looking for something that could handle high heat with no chance of burning me. I bake at 350F for cakes and cookies and occasionally at 500F for breads, so this item that is rated at 932F should obviously fit the bill, right?Wrong, wrong on all accounts here. This item is a hazard and burnt me while working on a light cookie tray at 350F, let alone on anything heavier or hotter than that. I was thinking of getting a pair for my elderly mother, who instilled the love of baking in me, but thankfully I tested first and only I got burnt. Not talking about just tender-and-red burnt, I mean second-degree-painful-blisters burnt.I reported this issue to Amazon and they stated they would have some safety investigation by looking at the number of complaints, but why not just test the actual item? I doubt much will come from this investigation, so I am writing here to hopefully save others from literally getting burned.Credit where credit is due, the gloves did feel comfortable right up until I got burnt.

I bought these looking for an alternative to standard oven mitts to give me better grip with hot pots and pans when I moved into a new house with a gas stove. I have stainless steel cookware but never had issues with handles heating up on an electric stove but quickly realized it’s totally different with gas flame. Handles got very hot and my standard oven mitts couldn’t give me a good enough grip on the small handles that I felt secure to move the hot pan or pot. Thought I’d give these a try, not sure what to expect. Love them! They are easy to put on, wrap snuggly around my wrists and up so I feel protected against accidental burns from hot grease that splashed or touching my wrist/forearm to the side of the pot while draining contents. I have small hands and wrists and these gloves are the only product I’ve found that fits well AND gives me the protection I need. Don’t get me wrong...they work on large hands too. My hubby can use them as easily as I can. Only thing is make sure you use the correct side of the gloves....only the black side is High heat resistant.
