It's a beautiful book - I originally bought this book in Tucson, AZ while traveling. My puppy ate it right off the coffee table one afternoon, and I literally cried when I saw it spread across the backyard. Had to get another one for my coffee table because it's beautiful to look through, and compliments the El Dia De Los Muertos art and catrina dolls we've collected.

Great resource!
I am an art teacher and every year I do a unit on the Day of the Dead with my students. I have always had a hard time finding quality reproductions of Dia de los Muertos artwork, so when I found this book I was pretty stoked. The book is mainly artwork but includes a bit of historical background on the cultural aspects of the holiday. I wish that it featured a bit more traditional folk art, but my students love the contemporary style of the book (as do I!). I use this book in my high school art room, but it is not "school appropriate" in its entirety. Its a great resource for me and I have really enjoyed the book!

Great Book
If you love Dia de los muertos or art, you will enjoy this book. I purchased this for my daughter who is an artist. It is a quality hardback book, coffee table material for anybody to enjoy. After opening the box, I sat here reading, but mostly looking at the beautiful artwork.

The Day Of The Dead.
This hardback book presents a very good collection of images dealing with the culture surrounding the Mexican festival “El Dia De Los Muertos”.A huge selection of work from a wide range of diverse art sources and disciplines which includes folk-art, historical material, work from contemporary artists and illustrators and covering painting, prints, drawing, 3D work, digital and photographic material. There`s not much text, but what there is suffices to introduce the selections and provide background to the culture and history.A really useful and visually inspiring volume of artwork to have in your reference library.

macabre diversity
As a lover of anything macabre and/or creepy, once again through previous customer reviews, I have discovered yet another delightful book on one of my favourite subjects. Korero, the publishers, are to be congratulated for bringing out a stunning volume of Mexican Day of the Dead related artwork. There are some artists I have discovered already in here, but a whole host of others that I hadn't until now. Such a diversity of talent within these pages bring to life a subject I was not all that aware of, but thanks to the illuminating text, this Mexican Festival is made more accessible. From early 20th century photographs that have been cleverly manipulated, garishly coloured poster art, woodcuts, spraycan art, naive folk-art and contemporary photography, the whole Day of the Dead celebration is, er, bought to life! The book itself: Beautifuly bound and printed, with semi-gloss pages that are easy to look at/read, with the images going from quarter to full page, and the accompanying text is kept to a minimum. Each chapter has an introduction, then it's just the images that follow. Also, the high-gloss dust jacket has the added detail of embossed lettering, which gives the whole package a nice finish. My only complaint is . . . . why no inclusion of Sylvia Ji's work? Apart from that, a well-earned 5 star rating!

Schon sehr cool
