My 10 minute legs workout
I have 3 workouts that I do 6 days a week. Arms, Legs, and Abs 2 days a week. On legs day I do Zumba country first then part 3 the 10 minute legs routine on the floor only I use a band for resistance on the leg lifts and a pilates ring on the bridge part. I finish with the firm 5 day stretch day 3 floor stretch. I am 61 and have arthritis in both feet, knees and hips and this is working for me, I am getting stronger. I have tried many other 10 minute leg strengthening workouts and this one seems most time efficient and effective. Kathy Smith gets down to business and there's more repetitions.

Another fantastic step workout!
I love Kathy Smith's workouts and this is one of her best. It is a re-release in DVD form of one of her VHS released in the 1990's. The DVD breaks down like this:- A 9 minute warmup- Segment 1: 16 minutes of step aerobics- Segment 2: 10 minutes of step aerobics focusing on the butt and thighs mixed with a standing-routine strength moves- Segment 3: 10 minutes on the floor of strengthening your butt, inner and outer thighs and leg muscles.- A 5 minute cool-down.This is my second favourite stepping DVD (just behind the Kathy Smith step workout that I also reviewed). This one is slightly easier than her other step DVD but a fantastic workout for the lower body. You warmup and spend 16 minutes stepping and then another 10 minutes with a raised heart-rate doing more stepping / strength moves before you continue to floor exercises.The one really nice aspect about this DVD is that it is not hard to follow. She leads you through the moves without it being to difficult or clumsy to follow. When I do this DVD, I follow it up with her DVD "Lift Weights to Lose Weight Volume 2" and do the 20 minute lower body workout on that to really work my butt / thighs / legs.Overall, a fantastic workout!

Great workout, outdated clothing that can get annoying
I was looking for a step workout and bought this video based on previous reviews posted. Some items mentioned were absolutely correct, and I wish I had taken them into more consideration before buying this tape. first of all, this is still a great step workout with great cueing. I always get sore after I do this workout. On the negative side, I wish they had updated the DVD to only show Kathy Smith. She is fantastic! Everyone else looks totally outdated, they have these cheesy expressions that drive me crazy. I get so annoyed about the "spandex with thong" clothing that many wear that I cannot bear to use this video to workout regularly.

Tough but effective.
I have several Kathy Smith exercise tapes, but I like this one best of all. I have yet to finish it, (!) but I'm enjoying getting there. It is tough. I'm 46 years old and have been exercising regularly (5 to 6 days a week) for over a year and a half. I was concerned about all the squats, but they're only half squats and aren't too bad. I feel I am building strength and endurance. My legs (after only 3 weeks) are firmer. This tape is so much better than her Fat Buring Breakthrough tape. The prerequiste for doing that tape is to have been a former Rockette or something. Way to dancy. Not so with Great Buns and Thighs. Glad I bought it.

Best lower body workout for anyone
This video has been a staple of my home exercise library for years and it's the one I keep going back to. I used to do it with wrist and ankle weights, and jumping (Kathy calls it "propulsion") at every opportunity - let me tell you, that was an intense cardio workout! It kept me in great shape and I loved the results.Now that I am 17 weeks pregnant with my first baby, this is still my favorite fitness video, except I do the low-impact beginner variations of every routine. Hands down, it beats every other pregnancy fitness video I've tried. (Note: I do not do the floor exercises on this DVD now that I am pregnant.)I recommend for anyone of any fitness level in order to feel great and get results. Exercise sessions are broken out well so you can cut out a segment if you don't have time. Kathy has great cueing and it's easy to follow: not as choreography-intensive as some other step videos. Enjoy!

Gets My Heart Pumping!
I know many complain that it's an older workout, but it *does* state in the Editorial Review - "...containing fitness legend Kathy Smith's favorite and most effective WORKOUTS FROM THE PAST." I really think those bad reviews on the dvd being misleading is not fair or true. And like the old adage says, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it..." Kathy's dvds truly are timeless;o)I LOOOVE the old routine. It really gets my heart pumping and works my legs nicely. To make it even more effective I added 3lb weighted gloves. So I'm able to get a little workout for my upper body as well. I love how Kathy builds on each moves and cues us before changing to a new move. The workout really does the trick - My legs and buns get fatigued and my heart rate gets elevated.I just wish there were more of her old workouts on dvds. I had missed her. This dvd and her other Timeless Step Aerobic dvds are favorites of mine. I highly recommend her Timeless dvds!

Great Lower Body Workout
I've had the VHS version of this video for about 4 years (and now am going to purchase the DVD). When I do this workout every week, my lower body looks more toned, and I feel stronger when I walk anywhere. Other reviewers point out that it's not much of a step workout, but my heart rate really stays up there during the entire routine because of the concentrated lower body exercise. I think Kathy has a good mix of stepping and lower body work. The step is a great tool for lower body work anyway. Even though it's categorized as a more intermediate level, I find that each time I do the entire workout, it really kicks my butt. Overall, for lower body toning and cardiovascular, it's great and I would recommend it. I also thought that Kathy would be obnoxious, but she's very pleasant to work out to, and much more tolerable than people who appear on other workout videos I have.

I am so pleased that I could find this dvd
I am so pleased that I could find this dvd. I used to have it on vhs in the eighties. This is not a tricky step routine, it is more about toning using the step. lots of squats, lunges, leg lifts, knee lifts and dips. There is a ten minute floor section as well. I never get bored doing this dvd. Kathy explains things really well. I love it. Plays on my uk dvd fine.

ヒップと脚のワークアウト
これは下半身の特に日本人の気になるヒップと脚の線をきれいに整えるワークアウトでもステップを使うので、それを考慮に入れて購入したい人は購入したほうがいいと思う。でもステップを使っているだけあって効果は凄い。ヒップのエクサイズも脚のエクサイズも結構きつい。でもこと細かくエクサイズをするので、脚の線なんか凄くきれいになる。横に上げたりバックにあげたり、前にあげたり、スクワットもいろんなバリエーションでやっている。これ1本持っていると日本人離れした脚になりそう。それにヒップの形が違ってくる。今の私のヒップは横にボヨンとしていた贅肉が見事になくなり形がよくなっている。私はジーパンが好きなので、特にヒップの形は気にしている。でもこれをやったおかげでヒップの形が整い横にあった贅肉が筋肉に変わり、ヒップアップしている。嬉しい。でも結構ハードなエクサイズだからストレッチをきちんとしていないと後が怖い。怖いというのは筋肉痛。でも筋肉痛になるなら効果抜群と思う。

After using my old VHS tapes, my old machine ...
After using my old VHS tapes, my old machine started eating the tapes so I "upgraded" to DVD. Am so thrilled they are still the old workouts. Kathy Smith is Timeless and always gets me sweating.

Brilliant butt workout
I have many Kathy Smith DVD's and this one is just as brilliant as the rest.I love the way she combines step and a brilliant leg and butt exercises my legs were really burning by the endand after only 2 weeks I can really see the difference in the shape of my legs
