Mayatex Ranger Hogan Solid Saddle Blanket

I love this saddle blanket. I'm in Florida where it's extremely hot with lousy humidity. I use with my air-flow pad so my horse stays cool and we look quite fashionable. I have this blanket in two other colors and they wash beautifully and the colors stay true. I plan on purchasing additional colors - We may not win but we'll look good loosing.

I use these as dog blankets, and it has held up much better than other saddle blankets. My hunting dog likes to chew when bored, so they usually only last a couple months. This one I have had for at least 6 months.

Nice color and weight. Curls a bit on the edge, but it is what I was looking for. Didn't give it a 5 star as the weave is a bit skewed on the blanket and so that does not make it perfect.

Originally purchased for use during a Mardi Gras parade to match the other riders. My daughter has since used it during open horse shows (western pleasure). We've also purchased a red one and are likely to purchase other colors to match her show outfits.

I don't use this blanket for anything other than showing, just over the regular saddle pad and there is nothing new to bum-fuzzle the horse on show day. Minimal slippage between my gel pad and the saddle. (I ride Western pleasure and reined cow with this blanket.) It cleans up well, hose it off and let it dry in the shade.FYI, if you have dogs that like to get up on 1 specific chair, put one of these on it. It won't stop the dog, but it will protect the fabric and reduce smell and dirt transfer.

Very dishonest description. There is NO wool at all in this blanket. It is an acrylic blanket. Sending them all back.Surprised it even made it here. The shipping box looked like it went through a tornado.

This is NOT the nice Mayatex. It's an okay size, but it's pretty light weight so the corners may bend and show the pad you have it over. I much prefer the traditional Mayatex blanket and didn't realize I was getting something so thin- I thought I was getting a good deal. The color is decent though and the overall look is okay, so if you're not showing a ton or want a cheap easy bright pad for a show or two you are in good shape.

For the price this is an awesome blanket! I use it under a pad and it's wonderful! Sure is easier to wash this more often than those heavy pads!

This item is not wool. Which is fine because I want it for over my saddle pad. But if you are looking for wool this isn't it
