Works on my Z370 Motherboard
This is a great replacement card reader for another one that started going bad. My motherboard failed a few months ago (an ASRock Z77 board) so I upgraded to the latest Z370 board. For some reason my old card reader didn't work with the new one for some of the time. Then after a while the card reader wouldn't even show up. So I got this one as a replacement and I was really happy it was easy to install and recognized by my OS right away. The driver installation was not difficult and my Windows 10 OS easily recognized all of the different slots. Under Computer Management -> Disk Management I was able to disable the drive letter assignments to the card slots I knew I would never use. Now my SD and CF slots have permanent drive letters so I don't have to deal with reassigning letters each time I insert a new card. Read speeds on this reader are very fast: All of my SanDisk ExtremePro SD cards are read at their maximum speeds (~90-95 MB/s), and write speed is up there too. Also useful is the additional USB 3 port, and a blue flashing light when it is reading or writing to a card. This is a really nice card reader, I highly recommend it. This review will be updated if anything changes.

Installed Seamlessly, Immediately Recognized by Win 7 - UMONIT.EXE Crashes on Windows 8
Configuration: ASUS P8Z77V Premium, Cooler Master Storm Enforcer Case, Intel 3770K, Corsair 16GB, Samsung 840 PRO 512GB SSD, Hitachi 4TB 7200 RPM HDD.Windows 7 Enterprise SP 1Installation Time: About 1 hour...I had to remove the unused ASUS-supplied dual port USB 3.5" internal adapter supplied with my motherboard (it was never connected to the motherboard). The Cooler Master case provides 2 front-side USB 3.0 ports, but they had to be disabled as they were using the only USB 3.0 20 pin header provided with the P8Z77V motherboard. I'm happy to lose a single USB port in favor of all the new function and performance the integated reader offers me. In addition, I have a 4-port USB 3.0 hub integrated into the side of my ASUS PA248 monitor. (ASUS should provide more internal USB 3.0 20 pin headers on the motherboard.) There are also other external USB 3.0 ports on the motherboard which are unused.Atech PRO-37U packaging has been changed (sticker afixed to the side of the box). Atech no longer uses a Super Speed USB dual cable to 20 pin MOBO adapter (hooray!). Instead Atech provides 1 USB 3.0 20-pin cable that attaches to the back of the reader. I spent more time removing and reinstalling the front of the Storm Enforcer than installing the drive. Atech provides screws but I chose to use the black ones supplied by ASUS.I recommend you go the Atech web site first: [...] and proceed to the SUPPORT page to get the User's Guide PDF and download the 'drivers'. Keep in mind that no drivers are really required with XP, Vista, or Win 7. Upon rebooting, Win 7 automatically installed the new drives for each of the readers - about 2-3 minutes wall clock time. However, Atech provides a really nice touch: unique ICONS for each of the individual readers that appear in My Computer after installation. Just click on SETUP and you're good to go. As a precaution, create a restore point if you have concerns before installing the Atech downloaded driver file.I did NOT, however, see any reference to Windows 8 (web site or box)... and it's on my radar screen in the near future. I did not see a statement of compatibility in terms of Atech's drivers. Nonetheless, the PRO-37U should work without issue... just no icons in My Computer.I plugged in a 32GB SDXC memory card, and the blue light immediately began flashing and stayed illuminated for the duration of its presence in the reader. I copied more than 1.4 gigs of pictures to my SSD in about 1.5 minutes. My 32 GB Patriot Flash Drive (USB 3) was immediately recognized without issue, too.I like the solidness of the case - no cheap plastic - and all internal components are sealed inside the unit. With a black front the reader aligns beautifully in my Cooler Master Storm Enforcer and looks FACTORY with the black case. There are tight seams around the perimeter of the case opening and the reader. No uneven or ill-fitting gaps whatseover. One issue: The length of the cable is too long necessitating the need to wrap it and tuck it out of the way of the motherboard and adjacent components. I would like to see an optional "shorty" cable of about 12 inches. The supplied cable is clearly intended for a full tower case. The cable is also very stiff: but realize that it's really 2 cables from the back of the reader mated into one that attaches directly to the motherboard. I would willingly pay for an extra "shorty" cable if it were offered as an option.Without question: well executed and works out-of-the box perfectly. Nice job, Atech! I hope the unit operates without issue for years to come.UPDATE!!! Gotcha...I just upgraded my Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise system to Windows 8 PRO. Immediately upon completing the installation, I installed the posted drivers as the first task after Windows installation. As recommended by Atech, I rebooted. No problem. Upon shutting down a second time shortly thereafter, the software trapped with an ugly message about an error in UMONIT.EXE. If you do a Google search for UMONIT.EXE, you will find a LITANY of issues from customers installing this 'icon remapping driver code' for a number of media reader vendors, who bundle this software with their products. AND EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE HAVING ISSUES - i.e. numerous reported failures generated by this code. I know it's Atech's code because I had not installed anything else on my system after the upgrade and it was working (shutting down) without issues whatsoever.I've sent an email to Atech Support requesting a replacement for the failing code and re-posting of drivers at the Windows 8 level on their web site. There is no statement of support or completion of any compatibility testing by Atech with Windows 8. Until I am satisfied that the problems have been resolved, I am downgrading my rating from 5 stars to 3. I will change it upon full resolution.

Almost perfect
Great reader! It can be used both internally (in a 3.5" slot) and externally (comes in an attractive case). If you don't have a free 3.5" slot, AFT PRO-57U is the same thing in a bigger case. Comes with a set of screws to attach to the case if needed.Comes with 2 USB cables which attach to rear - one for all card readers/writers, another as a pass-through for a USB 3.0 port on the front. There is an adapter for the 2 cables to attach to a USB 3.0 header on your motherboard, or if you don't have one, you just can use the cables in the rear USB 3.0 ports as I do.All slots create their own drive letters in Windows and can work simultaneously (I tested copy between SD card, CF card and USB stick - without a hitch). Apparently it has a USB hub for the card slots?Works in Windows 7 without drivers.Supports UHS-1 (it is on the box but not in the listing).Very fast - I tested SanDisk Extreme Pro 95MB/s 32GB SD card by copying a lot of large files, real world performance is about 68 MB/s write and 85 MB/s - apparently it does use both USB 3.0 and UHS-1.I am not sure about the claim that miniSD can be used without an adapter. At least it is the same slot with a regular-sized SD/MMC.The reader would be perfect if it would also have an eSATA port. Unfortunately even bigger 57U does not have it. And none other good readers with all the features of 37U.

Absolutely Screams Compared To My Old Reader!
I have this Atech Flash Technology Pro-37U attached to the internal 19-pin connector of a SilverStone SST-EC04-P PCIe USB 3.0 card in a system running Windows Vista 64bit and. so far, it's worked blazingly fast without a hitch. Very impressive compared to my old USB 2.0 reader! Was a little concerned as to what cable(s) I would receive in the box, but it worked out fine for what I needed; however, box contents did differ from what I expected. Basically, the only cable this unit came with was the 19-pin to dual USB plugs cable. Fortunately, this is the only cable I needed and is the cable I was hoping to receive. Other documentation I had read said it would also come with a standard USB cable for external use; however, that cable was nowhere to be found. I was, however, happy that I received the single piece 19-pin to USB cable instead of the USB 3.0 Y-adapter card plus seperate cables which earlier versions of this product apparently shipped with.
