YoYoink Compatible Toner Cartridge Replacement for Brother TN221 TN 221 (2 Black; 2 Pack)

Ordered 2 Black toners quite a while ago. The first cartridge worked pretty good after cleaning my metal fins and printing a few test sheets to clear it all up. We printed lots of pages for about 6 months using the first cartridge. Eventually the black ink started to fade though and so I decided to use the second cartridge. I couldn't get it to print. I tried and tried to troubleshoot and occasionally would get one decent page but about 95% of the time only smudges would appear. I contacted YoYoInk and within a day I heard back from them. I gave them my amazon order number and told me they were going to refund me 50% of the original purchase cost and send me a replacement cartridge. they did just that with one surprising exception. Instead of just sending one cartridge they sent two! Wow. You don't get customer service like that anywhere. The new toner seems to be working just fine so the next time I need toner I know exactly where to look!

I think I'm on my 4th set of these.I have used 2 full sets with all three color cartridges and 2 blacks in each. And reordered 2 sets of 2 black cartridges. All of them have worked well and my print quality has not suffered. I would highly recommend this product. The price just can't be beat, they arrive quickly (and cheaply) via Amazon Prime, and are well packaged.I must admit I was hesitant to try these, because I depend on my printers to work to do business and I would rather pay more for a product that I can trust than try to save a few bucks my going with and inferior product. I'm very happy to report that this was not the case for me. I will continue to use these.

This toner is TERRIBLE. It leaves white stripes all down the page that leaves text unreadable. I thought it was the drum or something so I took it all out and cleaned everything as suggested by Brother manuals. Still same terrible striping. Replaced with a different toner cartridge from a different seller and presto striping completely GONE. First picture is this toner, second is the other brand -- it's like night and day. Save your money and skip this crappy toner.

I've been using YoYo ink TN221 Black toner cartridges in my Brother HL3170 printer for about four years. I get a little over six months of printing from each cartridge, which is slightly better than the Brother product. Last month I replaced a spent cartridge with the second from a two-pack, and the new cartridge printed light gray. The indicator showed it was a full cartridge. So I wrote to YoYoink via my Amazon order record and received a quick reply stating that the cartridge would be replaced. The replacement arrived within a few days and is printing just fine. My original review here said "Seems to be a pretty good product. Time will tell." Well, it's indeed a pretty good product, and time has given me to know that the service is more than "pretty good." It is indeed a no-hassle two-year guarantee. It is not always the case that one will find this kind of response on product returns or exchanges. I've no reason to buy toner for this printer from any other vendor. This _IS_ a good product, and the service is terrific. Time has proven that to be the case.

Seems to work well so far. Probably only about 10-20% through my first cartridge, but haven't had any problems with print quality or with leaking toner inside the printer (as I have with some other brands). Overall works great! If that changes, I will be quick to change this review, because I hate leaking toner inside my printer, what a mess!

Read all the bad reviews about this, but I really think they were just sent a defective product that was leaking. Just send it back and get another one. Mines came just fine and worked perfectly. Have not tested it on transparent paper, but regular printer paper will do. Can't tell the difference. Let's see how many prints I can get from this.Ps. If you got a leaked product, just send it back and get one that isn't broken, because this is way better than buying the OEM.

This is the 2nd or third time I have ordered these toners for my Brother printer and they are fantastic (IMHO). I have never had any trouble with my printer recognizing the cartridges and the quality of the ink in my printing is good. And the company's guarantee to stand behind the product is impressive. All-in-all, well worth the money!

Of the two cartridges I bought, the first performed perfectly - no different than oem. The second started printing smudges along one edge and I found a build up of toner on one end of the roller. After I cleaned it off and tested it again the build up returned. I contacted the seller and they responded promptly and are giving me a partial credit and a cartridge. I can't complain at all about their customer service. Judging from my experience and the various reviews I've read I'd say this is typical behavior for them. They must have some QA problems in production though also judging from reviews. Still, I've ordered more. As long as my drum isn't munged up I can't beat the price and service. I just wish that there was a high capacity black cartridge to match the color. 221 vs 225.
