Cool idea
Cool idea but I didn’t realize it didn’t have any seeds or soil.

Get's the job done!
Worked like a dream! Smaller than I expected (about 8-10 inches tall, including water base and 1.5 inches deep), but it worked perfectly in my class. The only thing I did was wrap additional paper around the sides to keep the light out... the black paper provided seemed to small to waste a trial on. Easy to knock over (learned that the hard way, lol), due to being only about 1.5 inches deep and 4-5 inches wide)... Despite what seems to be complaints I would totally buy this again, because it WORKS!

Fun and excitinf
Such a great gift. It’s messy though. Nothing wrong with that, it’s expected when you have an activity involving soil

Good idea, badly executed, according to 12YO
It's just the maze, and it's flimsy and frustrating to put and keep together. The black cover is just cardstock, and you're supposed to snap a piece of the top over it to hold it in place, but there isn't space for that, so you'll end up using tape to make some doors. The brown side of the maze lets enough sunlight in for the beans to be satisfied where they are. The covers for the top are not connected, they just sit there. On top of all this, you provide your own seeds, cotton, and spoonfuls of potting or seed starting soil. I knew that going in, but my son found it weird since most gardening kits and terrariums provide at least a small packet of seeds and a baggie of soil or coir. If you're providing your own supplies, you could make a better, sturdier one with Lego.

Great gift for a classroom
My son bought this for his Montessori classroom in honor of his 8th birthday. His classmates and teachers really enjoyed the experiment and were able to transfer the seedlings into the school garden.I believe this will be a material they use for a number of years.

Such a cute idea but it’s so disappointing
My son was so excited to build this and try it, and when we opened it we realized it didn’t come with any of the seeds or soil, which is really annoying. Then when we were putting it together at the instructions were super confusing and I still don’t know if we put the bag together correctly. It has quite a few extra pieces, which again is confusing and annoying. It wasn’t crazy expensive so not worth my time to return it, so maybe we’ll still try and use it but the quality is pretty sad if I had paid five dollars or less I wouldn’t be nearly as annoyed, but this is basically a bunch of plastic junk with bad advertising 😕. It might still be cute, once it’s done… But I would skip this and look for a better quality one, or build one yourself out of some simple materials… Maybe we will try that when we have more time. We could cut up some boxes and use saran wrap or something. Definitely disappointing

Don't waste your money...
I have been saving this for "camp" for my kid this summer. We just tried it today and to my dismay, my return window closed two days ago... really quite a shame because this is the biggest waste of money. First of all, it doesn't come with any seeds to plant. So you're expected to use your own "beans" and germinate them. So after we excitedly opened this ready to go, we learned we couldn't do anything with it anyway! Then, when we tried to put it together, the pieces we so flimsy and worthless - we could barely make it work. I should have taken $12 and burned it in my fireplace or flushed it down the toilet because that would have been quicker. If this were slightly more expensive, I'd probably be making a stink and demanding my money back...
