Awesome balloons. We are filling 1500 water balloons for an epic end of school year battle. We bought one bag of these balloons and someone donated a bag of other (inferior) balloons. These balloons are strong, stretchy and bouncy when you fill them. A few had pin holes but it was a very small percentage. We didn't count the balloons so we may have still wound up with 500 filled balloons per bag. The directions say to fill to the size of a tennis ball. We have been filling them and setting them in 5 gallon buckets with enough water to float the upper balloons and they've held for three days. The donated, inferior balloons do not stretch, had around 15% fail rate (pinholes and rips in balloons) and carried a warning to not fill over 1 3/4" diameter - those are tiny water balloons and were seriously difficult to tie. They don't stretch enough to make a knot. Being able to compare the two types of balloon made us appreciate these stretchy balloons even more. I went back to Amazon and bought a second bag of these Water Sports balloons because they are so great. The free fill spout is a different matter. It works fine if you ignore the turn knob. My thumb was bruised after a half hour from having to push so hard on the little lever to turn the water off between balloons while I tied them. Once we teamed up and left the water running, all was well. I bought the Tie Not water balloon tying tool - 2 pack to use with the balloons. I cringed at the price for two little sticks of plastic but they work really well. The speedy process was: I slipped a balloon onto the nozzle while the hose ran gently, let the balloon fill to tennis ball size, then slipped it off the nozzle and passed it to my partner to tie while I slipped on the next balloon. We filled and tied over 200 an hour and that was with some lack of coordination. We filled them over a bucket to catch the water between balloon fills. If you are planning an epic battle, I highly recommend these balloons.

For only five bucks, I wasn't expecting much, but these are surprisingly great water balloons! I used them to pull a prank on a coworker. We filled the bed of his truck with these balloons while he was on vacation and they worked perfectly! Out of 500 balloons, only 10-20 broke while filling, which is really impressive. To have less than 5% of them break really surprised me, especially for a set this inexpensive. The nozzle included with this set is pretty cheap, but it got the job done. About halfway through the job, the nozzle started leaking a bit, but it still kept working. I wouldn't count on this nozzle to keep working for months or anything, but it totally worked for what I needed. I do recommend wearing some kind of work gloves when using it, though. The plastic handle really started to hurt my fingers after a while just because it's so small. Overall, though, this is a great set at a killer price. The balloons held up nicely and worked very well. I highly recommend this set for all your water balloon needs.

This is a review of Water Sports Water Balloons Refill Kit (500 balloons). There are good water balloons, and there are bad water balloons. Good ones are easy to fill and only a few break or have holes. Bad water balloons are impossible to tie, are mostly broken, and are just plain no fun. Each summer I think I tie about ten thousand water balloons, and I've gotten to be rather particular in water balloon quality and have developed a keen eye on identification of a good balloon and one that'll soak me while filling it up. The Water Sports Water Balloons are in the good water balloon category. They have nice long necks that are easily stretched to tie. They are hard enough that they can sit on grass and not pop when filled. Out of the pack of 500, I had at most 15 that had pin holes or were otherwise unfillable. That's a pretty good ratio in my opinion. The only concern of note with these balloons is there size. These balloons are not suited to make big water balloons that can soak a four year old with a single balloon. They are more like hand size balloons, like a slightly overstuffed baseball or a hand grenade. They also tend to bounce, which is really good for balloon toss but not for big kids throwing balloons at little kids (ouch!). In the last batch, the kids I filled them for starting to use them as baseballs after a few got hit by a not so soft balloon.

If you or your kids want to have some fun with waterballoons, but you don't want to spend too much money, then this product is WAY TO GO. Price is solid for 500 balloons + plastic filler. Quality is okay; You won't have any problem having splashing fun with it. This is "biodegradable." We all know that great fun comes with great responsibility (of cleaning up the after mess.) With these balloons, you won't have to worry about cleaning up, because they will fade away over time. I tested it's "biodegradability" to make sure it's not just a gimmick, and it did work. Becareful, because it means that if you leave these balloons exposed to the sunlight or soil, they will start break down even if you never used it. I suspect those reviews saying "9 out 10 were defect!" were the cases they didn't take proper care of it. From my experience, defect rate was only about 1 out of 10. I didn't mind it because I was still left with 450 water balloons for under 5bucks. Filler method is bit old-fashioned, so it would take quite some time for you to make waterballoons. If you wanna prepare them for a time of event, do so ahead of time. Over all, it's a decent product.

These balloons popped if I filled them too quickly or too full, & were difficult to tie because of their size. Some had a holes, but not as many as I would have thought considering the price. The only way my kids could really play with these was if I filled them to about the size of an egg and then the little balloons bounced! Crazy. There wasn't much a middle ground with these. We bought 2 packs and didn't use the entire first pack because of the cons, & the other bag was never used. In the future, I'll spend a bit more money for a bit more reliable fun. 3 stars and not less because they aren't completely useless for everyone. They'd be great for relay races or for younger kids with very tight grips, etc. where a small, slightly durable water balloon is needed. They simply didn't work for us.

These water balloons were awesome!!!! Over the past years there is always a huge water balloon fight on our lake and my family and I kept buying balloons that just weren't working. We finally came across this water balloon kit and it works great. They are inexpensive, biodegradable, fun, and they come with a nozzle. They work great and pop when you throw at a solid surface. We will definitely keep buying these balloons every year now. I highly recommend these balloons to anyone who is thinking about buying them!

Oh boy, look somewhere else if you need a bunch of water balloons. I wanted to fill a toddler pool with these for my daughter's first birthday. I put the first one on the sink and it ripped so suddenly and easily, I didn't even know it tore until I turned on the water and saw that the water passed right through. I pulled out the next one and it ripped when I simply grabbed the opening of the balloon to pull it open. I grabbed a third one and it did the same thing. I didn't even try any more. They all looked just as thin. A lot of them also had splatters of other colors on them. Pay a little more and buy higher quality and lower quantity. You're just throwing your money away with these.

I bought this to make water balloon fish for my kids swimming pool and they lasted longer than other water balloons I bought. They are easy to fill my four year old daughter learned quickly how to do it herself. They are durable when thrown they don't always break right away which makes water balloon fights more fun. My three year old son also loved just playing with the balloon filler as a sprinkler. He had fun making the water turn on and off by itself like a faucet. I have left the bag of unused balloons outside and the filler so far everything works great. After they broke in a few days they were gone so they seem safe for the environment and easy to clean up. I also left filled balloons in the pool and the water did not leak out even after a few days. I am happy and will buy more again.
