I bought this book thinking it would give instructions on grooming. While it talks about basic grooming, i.e., picking out the right shampoo, conditioner, cleaning the eyes, ears, etc., it does not tell you how to cut their hair, which is what I was going for. Also, this book should have been proofread by someone before going to the press. There’s a lot of errors in the writing. If you’re trying to learn how to groom your Maltese yourself, don’t buy this book.

I am getting a Maltese Dog in z few weeks time. Although I am not a novice I found this book useful and informative, a refresher course in some cases. My first dog a pug just passed away a few weeks ago and I decided I couldn't live without a doggy companion. Great for first time dog owners and anyone deciding on a Maltese. When you read the last chapter the author captured my feelings exactly. It has also helped me to deal with my loss.

I think that the book only addressed puppyhood and older dogs but not the middle years. I'm going to try and find another book to see if it is better.

If you are privy to owning a Maltese you must get this book. My little girl is getting enough food now to finally put on a little weight. Prior to reading this book she was definitely a problem eater.

Like it I have a Maltese

Kind of general. The editor did a horrible job of "search and replace" as this book is clearly written for many breeds of dogs and they forgot to change all instances of other dog types.

It's a good book, but it isn't detailed enough. I had to get many questions answered else where

I would not recommend especially that I found out there are several books this author had written for "other dogs"

Great book, which explains everything you need to know to look after a dog proper. I summarised for myself the most important things as there is so much to know about our little friends to help them be healthy and happy. Highly recommend

Love this book, so much information in it how to care for a Maltese. I am ready for my cute doggy and I now know how to take care of my dog.

Interesting and helpful book written by an author who has NOT owned a Maltese themselves.
