Review: What needed to be said. - I've been interested in the murder, not suicide, of Cobain since I was first introduced to Nirvana and the "stories" of Kurt, and being from Aberdeen myself, I of course had to know "what happened to Kurt Cobain?". At first, I did believe that he had taken his own life but that was long before the interest of Kurt himself (not just the band) came about. I've done a little research here and there on the internet but as the internet goes, plenty was said, and thus- anything goes. So I decided to invest some money and start getting some more legitimate sources to gain knowledge from. Wallace and Halperin's first book was a good read but when this second book came out I felt like I had finally found something with a little more meat to sink into. I've never read such a detailed account on what really happened in the events surrounding Kurt's case. Wallace and Halperin go into detail with major help from the P.I Tom Grant who was the catalyst for the "murder" vs "suicide" theory. The book was filled with a myriad of facts that Grant disclosed to the authors, although not all that he knew due to his fear of jeopardizing his end goal of getting the case reopened. Wallace and Halperin also have many other sources that also go into detail and reiterate some of the previous facts from their first book. The way they wrote kept me intrigued through out and I read the entire thing in two days after I got it (it was difficult to put down). Although repeated fact, after fact, after fact got a little monotonous after awhile, everything in this book is needed, otherwise it wouldn't be as damning of a book as it is. With every page turned a new piece of the puzzle is revealed and by the end,the picture is painted although still left open for your own interpretation because Grant has yet to reveal the most damning evidence he has. If I had any problems with the book and the writing it would have to be the one sided view. Wallace and Halperin's judgement on others for being "closed-minded" to the murder theory is blatant in their writing and I found it a bit hypocritical of them as they seem to be rather "stubborn and judgement" towards the possibility of a suicide. Despite my own opinion on this, the book was a terrific buy and well worth the knowledge within it pages. Review: Very interesting with a lot of info I didn't know about - This book is really good ..I think a lot of us who grew up in the 90s & felt a strong connection to Kurt's music don't feel like the case was dealt with very well.. there is a lot of information that just feels wrong(like eerily wrong)- the M.E. that performed ALL of the autopsies, the practice writing..Kristen Pfaff'..the timing of events..I'm not here to point fingers- there are all kinds of different theories. money seems to be the #1 thing that people can use to get away with all kinds of s#!t. It's sad but very true..no one truly knows except the person or people involved. I've always been kinda detective-ish so this book was super hard to put down. One thing though, I have to also say that there is a HUGE STIGMA attached to people who use drugs (opioids are "the enemy"(meanwhile ppl are in severe pain & can't get any help from Drs..while ppl are doing coke like it's the disco days & its 'just for fun'..and hey..alcohol is just fine & dandy! It never hurts anyone, right!) The whole "you can never trust a junkie" mentality is horrible & portrays good people to be "losers","dopefiends" & "junkies", therefore while I do have my own thoughts about this "case", I can also sympathize with anyone who has been treated like crap and made to look like a villain because they don't fit societal norms, are seen as a "junkie"- all the stuff about Courtney's pregnancy & all that- I would be fuming if someone portrayed me to be a bad parent & didn't know me. Just had to say that. If you're looking for a book with a lot of info & some very interesting theories, read it , and you'll have a better understanding of a lot of the facts. It's upsetting- being a teenager in the 90s was both very cool & very difficult at times, but we had some amazing musicians who were so powerful & real. TOO MANY unsolved murders and deaths where the evidence was mishandled , destroyed or covered up making it impossible to find out the truth. I hope everyone is at peace, the media makes things like this so hyped up but we're talking about lives being lost.It seems like the people who want peace on earth the most end up gone too soon. If you're an empath, prepare yourself for some strong emotions!

Suicide or murder? Read it and come to your own conclusions
I first saw this book when I worked for Waldbaum's supermarket. I picked it up, turned to a random page, and found that the little bit I did read was too outlandish and I put it back and never once went back to read more of it. The whole idea of Kurt Cobain being murdered was something I wasn't ready to consider, much less believe, in 2004. I started reconsidering a few years later, I read reviews for this and other books on the subject for about 10 years, then finally I decided that maybe I'd better open my mind (and I mean be real wide open) and at least read the supposed evidence that supports the murder theory. I read the book. In fact, I read it a few times. It's still outlandish at times, but I will admit that it held my interest. In fact, I can even admit that this was not an open-and-shut case of suicide, and the Seattle Police Department really should reopen this case. But do I believe that it was murder and not suicide? Not yet, although I'm a lot closer to believing it than I was before I read the book. You see, this book is insinuating that Courtney Love was responsible for three people dying. I don't like her myself, but it's difficult to believe that the woman is actually a cunning murderess. An incurable drug addict and mega bitch, yes; but I don't know if she is capable of murder. Still, the book is worth reading for true Nirvana fans who don't accept the suicide theory. Maybe someday I can open my mind a little wider and accept that this death was really a murder, but that time is not now.

Having always dismissed the conspiracy theories this book raises several questions that have never been addressed in a legitimate manner. The authors and Tom Grant seem to have a grounded approach and back up all claims with sources removing any hysterical or romanticised speculation and conjecture that you find with many other books surrounding the man and the band. Left me with very little doubt the case needs to be reopened and investigated at the very least.

Envolvente, fascinante e bem escrito, os autores tem muito a dizer aqueles que se importam em olhar através das cortinas.

It’s all here buy it ! One of the most concise and clear books about Kurt’s death/murder they questioned them themselves as much as they question what they believe to be. The truth is and what we all believers of Kurt’s murder believed to be the truth is it’s all here by.
