Hilarious!!!
Hell House was a funny read. It is my first read by Brenda Hampton but certainly won't be my last. It was well written and left me wanting more. The story takes place on the set of a reality show, called Hell House. Six people who don't know each spend 3 months together in a house. They can't leave the house and can't have cell phones. The last person standing gets $100,000.00. The first person to arrive is Roc. Roc has found the love of his life in Dessa Rae. Can he stay true to her living amongst 3 beautiful women. Then arrives Chase. Chase is self proclaimed woman on the move when it comes to men. If she wants a man, she will go after him married or not. She wants to appear to have it all together but it's apparent that she doesn't. Jaylin, Mr. Fine but Bourgeoisie. But don't get it twisted, he is not the pretty boy he seems to be and will quickly take it to the streets. Jada can cook her but off. She is plus size and confident. She comes across as not too intelligent, but don't sleep on her. Sylvia and Jaylin have a mutual friend that causes them to try to keep things cool between them. She seems to be the good girl at first, but not so much. Lastly, we have Prince. The young "street soldier". He comes from the streets, but is still trying to find his way in the legit world. Who will be the last one standing? This was a light and comical read. There was not a real strong plot other than the competition. It was intended to be funny and kept us on our toes. My favorite character was Jada. She was hysterical to me. What she lacked in intelligence she made up with her quick sense of humor. My least favorite character was Sylvia. I did not dislike her, but she was my least favorite. She was too wishy washy. I loved when Jada faked the heart attack when she saw Jaylin naked. It was hilarious. Jaylin's attempt to revive her showed a soft spot under all that male hardness. I developed a crush on Jaylin. I loved the playful banter between he and Jada and hopes he would have taken care of her instead of Sylvia. There is still time or is there? We were left hanging at the end. If you want an easy, funny and sexy read, you will enjoy it. I give it 4 stars.Yolanda Maria"Reviewed for the Sankofa Literary Society. Book provided by author or publisher for review purposes."

Who will be the last one standing???
From the moment I knew this project was in the works I was beyond excited!!Just imagining Jaylin, Roc, Prince, Jada, Sylvia, and Chase all trapped in one space together had me thinking that this was going to be an off the chain read. And then I got it, and I was NOT disappointed!! I loved this book. The whole idea of doing a reality television show to mix in all those different personalities together was genius. I loved the dynamic in the house. Each character had their good points, their flaws, and of course their own agenda. Nobody plans on leaving the Hell House without a fight. And if they have to use every underhanded trick they know to be the last one standing, including sex....then so be it!! This book had the right balance of drama, humor, and sizzling sexual chemistry. I have to say, I enjoyed the relationship between Jada and Jaylin the most. Those two kept me laughing!! And of course I might be a little biased when I say that my favorite is of course Jaylin. Yeah, I am biased. So what!! LOL!! If you have not read any of the books Ms. Brenda Hampton has put out with these characters, you really need to. Or take the chance of missing out. So check out Full Figured 1, 3, and 5 for a piece of Roc. Don't Even Go There to find out what Chase is all about. Slick to meet and greet with Sylvia. How Can I Be Down to catch up with Jada. Street Soldier 1 and 2 to get a glimpse into the life of Prince Perkins. And last but certainly not least The entire Naughty Series to see what makes that man, Jaylin, tick. So get ready to dive into the Hell House.I can see already it's going to a bumpy ride!!LOL!! Ms. Brenda, I cannot wait for part 2!!

THESE PEOPLE NEED A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST THEM
In Hell House, Brenda Hampton has found a clever way to bring characters from her previous novels together in such a way that it's nothing but Hell on wheels, or should I say Hell in a house? You love them. You hate them. What's more is that the way it's written, you'll understand what drives and motivates them--which speaks to Brenda's unique way of developing characters with heart, soul, sass and a past. There are times when I wanted to reach into the book and pop someone upside the head--one of those "back in the day when your mama embarrassed you at school" kind of thing. Other times, I just wanted them to finally catch a break. This was a fast-paced read, and what I like about the book is that it stands alone without having to read any novels previous novels. Brenda's writing style has always been "in your face" hang out with your girlfriends and "tell it straight with no chaser." This novel lives up to that standard. Definitely something you'll enjoy and it will give book clubs something to talk about. I would also highly recommend that you have The Roof is on Fire on hand. You'll want to roll right into the next stage of the drama non-stop. Five stars from --Naleighna Kai, national bestselling author of Open Door Marriage and Every Women Needs a Wife

Reality TV has nothing on Reality Reading...
It took me a while to read this book because I usually read books within a day or two... but now I realized why! This book was an excellent read and I am so upset that I have to wait until March 2014 to read the next installment. That is too long to wait and then when I looked for Hell House II come to find out it has been released before, so somebody has a copy out there for me to get to and hopefully I can. Brenda Hampton is absolutely a genius for the plot of the book. Who knew reality reading would be just as intriguing as reality tv... lol! I love the way she intertwined her characters into this story and now I want to go back and read about Jaylin and some of the other characters also. What sparked my interest in reading this book was the Who Ya Wit series because yes I am in love with Roc... but that is another story that was well written and well played out! Brenda you are starting to become my favorite author because you only have about two more slots to climb up. Keep doing your thing and being innovative in your writings because you are definitely a pro at what you do!

My baby Jaylin
The fact that i love reality programmes has nothing to do with the fact that this book was amazing... i love that all the characters from previous boooks were all brought into one place, and just incase we forgot who they were brenda mentioned the titles with the character to remind us faithful readers...not that i ever doubt Ms Hampton
