Some very iconic songs on this compilation
Don't let the name put you off… there's some great iconic songs on this album… from one hit wonder Norman Greenbaum: "Spirit In The Sky", 10cc's "Rubber Bullets", novelty numbers like C. W. McCall's "Convoy", and lots of other great 60s/70s numbers.

Interesting compilation regarding the genre Bubblegum Pop. Enjoyed certain selections that I enjoyed when released on the AM FM Radio in Brooklyn. Knew the songs but not the artists. I would recommend this cd because the price was right and enough material listed to warrant the purchase. Enjoy!

Worth the price.
Well not all the songs presented are true bubblegum (great for today's children's parties) but I counted 27 great songs, most not found on other music sets. Some should considered MOR. Generally presented in chronical order.

AM Pop (Bubblegum) at its Best! Well if you follow the EU Pop charts anyway.
The UK charts are used here. Many of these 'Pop'; (Europop) sweet and sugary tune's followed both USA and European chart action. An example is the very first track:"Crazy Horses" is a 1972 hit by The Osmonds reaching number 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 in the UK Singles Chart. The others might follow more along the Europop side and never hit the USA Charts at all. The last song offered here never made the Billboard charts: "Seven Tears" charted and went to Number One in the U.K. Singles Charts on 23 March 1982. Needless to say, The Goombay Dance Band is basically an unknown here in the Unites States or North America in general. This collection seems to cover a period of about 10 years (early 70's to early 80's). Although this collection misses many standard bubblegum classics, the lines between Pop and Bubblegum are blurred here. I ever heard the music of 'Brotherhood of Man', '10cc' or 'Love Unlimited Orchestra' called bubblegum before. But Penny McLean, Fern Kinney, Lieutenant Pigeon may be but are a bit of an unknown to me.

Worth the cost
Contains many songs that were not hits in the US, so it does give you stuff you won't find on the basic Rhino collections. Worth the cost.

'IT'LL GET YER' FEET TAPPING FOR SURE'
This again is a great value box-set of ''fun'' music with a bucket loadof pop-sounds from yesterday. If you invest now you'll get 60 memories for just a fiver....can't be bad ?if like me you have spent several years covering your 'Vinyl' memories bycollecting as many as you can on the 'CD' format i'd have to say you'llprobably not find many if any rare tracks on board, for me buying this 3-CDset is all about listening to many favourites presented in a different trackorder to other similar CD's already owned......freshens it up I guess.numbers that caught my eye persuading me to purchase were....on CD 1 .......The Osmonds....'Crazy Horses' ( my favourite 'Osmond number')---'Suzi Quatro's'...'Devil Gate Drive'---'Norman Greenbaum's'...'Spirit in the Sky'---'ChicoryTip'...'Son of my Father' and 'Lieutenant Pigeon'...'Mouldy old Dough' .....highlighting just a few memories...........on CD 2........'The Rubettes'---'Sugar Baby Love'---'Kenny's'...'The Bump'---'Tavares'...'More than a Woman'---'5000 Volts'...I'm on Fire'---'Leo Sayer's'...'When I Need You'---and'C.W.McCall's'...'Convoy'---again just picking out one or two highlights---on CD 3....'Buggles'...'Video Killed the Radio Star'---'Lena Lovich'...'LuckyNumbers'---'Tracy Ullman'...'Breakaway'---'Fern Kinney's'...'Together we areBeautiful'---'Dan Hill's'...'Sometimes when we Touch'---'Clout'...'Substitute'---'Meri Wilson's'...'Telephone Man'---and 'Phyliss Nelson's'....'Move Closer'there are several others worth a mention in truth ....however those I have pin-pointed give you a flavour of what makes this a cracking buy....fun sounds tocherish and enjoy.

Fantastic!
What a great collection! Only slightly disappointed that some tracks, such as Wig Wam Bam, Feels Like I'm In Love, Sugar Baby Love and Substitute, were included, as they seem to pop up on most compilation albums of this sort. But what a lovely change to find tracks like Convoy, Can Can, Seven Tears and Devil Gate Drive included. Couldn't we swap some of the more frequently found tracks and have another Sweet hit, a less often found one like Fox on the Run instead of Wig Wam Bam; Jukebox Jive instead of Sugar Baby Love; and Popcorn and Uptown Top Ranking instead of the other one hit wonders? But really, no complaints, it's a terrific compilation and I'll be annoying my heavy metal neighbours with it a lot, I think!
