Concise, affordable geography.
This book is a general geography textbook that is well written. We have read 3 chapters so far. Seems to be a balance of history of geography with geography. For example when you read about Erothosthenes computing the circumference of the earth, you learn a little bit of scientific information about the earth. The book has comprehension questions at the end of each chapter. My daughter to enjoy it.

Good resource.
This is a great resource! It was recommended for a curriculum we are using, but it could be a stand alone. Good pictures and questions. Haven't used the entire thing, so this is a partial review just by flipping through.

Good but not challenging...
I'd say it's for upper elementary. It was nice to use as summer science to keep our knowledge up without stressing too much.

Great!!
This series is wonderful. I love the Biblical references throughout it. My kids get to learn real facts without being indoctrinated with someone's theory.

Well written and illustrated. Comprehensive. Quality literature. A classic book to save and read again and again. Excellent for teaching.

Science and Mythology - together in an uncomfortable reading
Bought this back in the summer time and just now getting around to using it in our home school curriculum. Blown away by the book. Not in a good way, though, mind you. This book wasn't tagged as "Christian" when I bought it. Come to think of it, it still isn't. This very definitely is. Readers are encouraged to "check out" Bible passages for "more information" and some of the content was a little disturbing - such as Marco Polo "discovering" Mt. Arawat and finding what is generally accepted (by who??) that the remains of Noah's Ark is on top. Great googly moogly. I wanted science, not myths and fairy tales. Kiddo was really disappointed because he ended up having to skim over half of some chapters to get to any hard core facts or science. Questions at the end of each chapter were a nice touch, I'll give it that.If you're a secular home schooler, I'd stay away. Not worth the price when only half of the book is filled with facts.

beware
I ordered this to send to a student I sponsor in Tanzania. I thought I had thoroughly reviewed the Amazon pages on this book so I was aware of the content. (The information about it being Bible based was not on Amazon when I ordered this book.) Since it was recommended for "home schooling" I wanted to make sure it did not have a religious orientation. I did not see it tagged as being "Christian" any where in the description. However, it is for Christian home schoolers. I did not read it enough to see if it was anti-science/anti-evolution. It was damaged in shipping so I was able to send it back for full refund. I will not buy any more books by this author.
