I hired an Installer off of Craigslist because everyone on the BMW Forums said it could not be done. The guy did it without any problems, I could have done it my self.He said the the Wire Harness was perfect--as long as the factory radio does not have DSP The Harness even allowed for wiring the Steering Wheel control module without splicing. He was very happy with the Kit.VERY happy I upgraded the factory radio

So I tried to replace the head unit on my BMW myself. This kit had a nice faceplate but the wires didn't work with my Z4. That's okay; I just matched them up manually using the good instructions with the head unit.I've done this with over a dozen cars in my lifetime; never a problem. I'm quite the advanced handyman normally.It seems BMW has some BS bus-system, which if you cut the wire causes the ENTIRE CAR's computer systems to go dead.According to the Dealer I had to put my old system back in (I had thrown it away) to "re-boot the bus" -- total $4K plus a replacement head unit (of my old stye; no IPod input) for another $1k -- Total BMW BS. I argue with the Sales Manager and then General Manager and it was $5K to get out of there with just my old stereo functionality.So I took it to my local sound guy car audio specialist who fixed the bus and made my new head unit work for $200!!!Beware with the BMW -- you may need pro help.

If you have an amplified system this will not work you have to rewire the whole car

It fits the car but not the radio

The stereo adapter works great. The instructions were extremely lacking and did not include one of the wires necessary to make it work with the standard system in my car. The faceplate adapter could be molded to fit better.
