Zymol Z503 Cleaner Wax Original Formula, 20 Ounce

I'll lead-off by acknowledging that anyone who loves their vehicles and caring for them - every one of us - has their own favorite wax - and for me (and undoubtedly thousands of others) that is hands-down, without a question Zymol Cleaner Wax (I'll mention the other Zymol products below). While I'll tip my cap to Griot's, Meguiar's and Car Guys - I've used them all - for me the all-in-one Zymol cleaner wax is my go-to use anytime on anything clear wax. It's all-around spectacular.For me, EVERYTHING about this product is first-rate: it goes on effortlessly (more on that below too), performs as advertised, is extremely easy to remove and buff even if you let it dry - in fact I always let it dry to a white powder (but obviously don't let it sit in the direct sun).Importantly, this is a TRUE cleaner wax in that it removes dirt, water spots, tree sap, bird droppings, salt-spray and if you use a little extra elbow grease it will remove oxidation, swirls and scratches...flawlessly. And don't get me started on the shine - wow is it DEEP and mirror-like.As for durability, it is important to know is that my cars and boats are subjected to the absolute harshest conditions possible being parked outside in the searing Florida sun, and being along the coast they are also subjected to constant salt spray - but even with those harsh operating conditions, Zymol lasts up to six months between applications (however, I dig the shine so much that I find myself re-applying every 3-4 months, but last week I tried a new Zymol top-coat product - "Glaze" - and I'll report back after a couple months to see if that works as good).For those who've never tried Zymol, it is a German product that has been around forever, and what they don't spend on advertising (I've never seen an ad for Zymol in the 25 years that I've used it) they must put into R&D because I'm not kidding, this cleaner wax excels at every stage.First, it goes on super easy - the newer bottles (say in the last 2-3 years) seem to be a little more liquid than the previous formula which was thicker and more pasty, but once you get used to the thinner viscosity you'll be rewarded with the same outstanding results. The only situation where I found myself wanting the thicker paste is when I needed to remove heavy oxidation or discoloration - that required a power applicator/buffer/polisher, but even then it only took a few experiments for me to find the right technique (apply it to the surface with a microfiber sponge, then continue cleaning/waxing by switching-over to the power polisher with a foam or microfiber bonnet that's been dampened with a light coating of the wax). Otherwise I just use a microfiber-covered foam sponge and a little elbow grease for most conditions, and if I'm doing a tweener-application just for that showroom-new shine in-between heavy cleaning-waxing then I don't even need the elbow grease, just simply wiping this on in circular or back-and-forth motions work perfectly.With Zymol it's pretty straightforward: For the job you have in front of you, just adjust your application pressure - more/harder for heavy oxidation, scratches and the like - medium pressure/passes for average surface conditions - and simply paint it on for the great shine.Like I said, with Zymol I let the wax dry before buffing - providing that you use the right amount of product for the job (the only time you have to think about not letting it totally dry is in the heaviest application jobs where you use more wax than normal); otherwise like with most waxes, a little bit goes a long way. I do medium-sized sections (3-4' x 3-4' sections at a time) and I let the wax dry out (like I would NEVER do with most waxes) to a powdery, dusty condition, which is totally wiped away with a pass or two with a microfiber cloth.In most jobs, after I wipe away the dried wax I either hand-buff it with a heavier microfiber or wool cloth (or if I'm in a pinch a Terry-cloth bath towel works fine), followed by a light machine buffing with a wool bonnet (but this last step isn't really needed unless you're prepping for a show, or if you're just a car nut like me).Sorry for the length of this review, but I find reviews to be the most helpful when they give tips that work, so I'm hoping my comments were helpful.

Zymol is 2nd to none, when we are talking wax.Cleans, Protects, Repels Water & Shines Like No Other: Paint, Glass & Chrome!Zymol will eliminate swirls on clear-coat. Deep rich shine and it's super easy to use.I'm not going to knock other brands specifically but I've used them all. I love to detail cars, trucks, boats n bikes and will NOT recommend any other product. Ceramics are great but nothing better than a great cleaner wax in my opinion

I have used the Zymol Cleaner Wax since I bought my 2003 Lincoln Navigator new. The paint looks as good today 16, plus, years later as it did the day I took delivery.The cleaner is easy to remove so long as it is not allowed to dry completely. This is not like using the usual wax found at most auto parts or other retail stores. The cleaner is best applied in sections of about 2 feet by 2 feet with a damp sponge used for waxing. Once its massaged into a cool and clean paint surface, immediately start buffing to remove the cleaner.For the past year, after a good wash, I have used the 6” Auto Spa buffer with sponge allocator to apply the cleaner. The 6” buffer is much easier to manage and allows you to work in tight areas such as around the exterior side mirrors.After applying the cleaner, I follow up using the Auto Spa 10” buffer with the microfiber buffing bonnet.The above technique I have found to be not only easier and faster, it also works the cleaner deeper into the clear coat finish giving a deeper, wetter looking gloss. On a black color the results are amazing.

I’ve been using this product for years. My local auto parts store stopped carrying it, so I found it here.It does some amount of light paint correction and provides a super slick finish. My truck looks like a black mirror. It’s super easy to work with compared to many other wax products, and a bottle will last a long time.

Zymol has been a great car wax for the 20 years+ years we have used it. Like many 1 star reviewers, I opened the package and found some leakage inside the plastic bag (not the Amazon packaging). Once I got it unwrapped I saw the cap was cracked. Ok, no big deal. Then I looked inside the bottle and saw how watery it look. I thought, oh great, just like the other reviewers said. Fortunately, I knew I could just return it to my local Whole Foods store. But wait. Let me pour the liquid into the old empty bottle and see what I get. And there it is, some solids started pouring out. So, as the directions say on the bottle, "shake bottle before using". There you go. If all else fails people, follow the directions before complaining! You just need to get the liquid and solids mixed and it will be just like we always expect from Zymol. My only complaint is the cap needs be redesigned so that, #1 it doesn't break, and #2 a lid can be flipped open to squeeze out the contents just like my old bottle. With the existing cap design, the contents can pour out if the bottle accidently gets knocked over. I don't want to lose any of the precious wax.
