good solution for my old camper
I was looking for a good water filter solution for my old camper. Water is super important, and though I sanitized the tank and filter all water going in, it's still a tank and I wanted more safety. There are a ton of options, like under sink, but my old camper doesn't have the room. Some folk install filters underneath the camper, but then they are subject to freezing. I looked at compact undersink designs, and decided it was maybe not such a good idea to disturb the current 25 year old plumbing. Then I looked at those "hang on the end of the faucet" designs, and decided it was a terrible idea to add a weight to a 25 year old system and then subject it to repeated pounding. So I settled on an end of the faucet attachment that mostly sat on the counter. But with all of the filters, there are so many reports of them failing, it was a discouraging thought, not one I was excited about. Then I found this. It solves all the issues I had. It's completely separate from my very old system so it can't inadvertently cause a leak. It filters out all the harmful stuff I was concerned about, it is simple to use - using any small power bank and hitting a button. It is reasonably fast - I just filter a gallon or so in the morning for my drinking water and don't worry about other water uses. Best of all, these folks offered a LIFETIME warranty. And I know these folks are listening to their customers because i watched a review of an early version of the filter and saw that in my version, they had addressed all the wishes the initial reviewer had mentioned! I am super happy with this solution. This lives in the handy little included nylon bag and hangs on a hook near my kitchen sink.

After one trip - absolutely amazing
After testing if it works at all at home I took it out camping without testing it before in outdoor conditions (silly thing to do, but clean water could be store bought on that trip so I risked it). Luckily for me, this thing turned out to be the best water filtering solution I've ever tested. 4 stars for ease of use, because you have to assemble the hoses, flush it back after use (seems like a smart thing to do) and disassemble after filtering, which is not bad at all, but takes a minute. Our water source was okay-ish, but not crystal clear, there was definitely green organic matter flowing out during the backflush after the filtering session. We've been filtering at least 12 liters a day (6L per session) for 6 days straight, without any issues or interventions aside from changing the output container. All on one set of 2xAA batteries that are still good. Zero hassle compared to gravity filters, works very quietly and decently fast - a bliss to use. The bag that comes with the filter fits all parts and everything necessary for maintenance + some batteries which is nice. Taste is perfect. Honestly tastes better than some tap water. The biggest issue I have with the filter is the placement of the power button. I go moto camping and I pack the filter bag into long drybags where stuff basically lies on top of one another, that way I had the filter turn on on me once - fortunately when I was packing it so I noticed immediately and turned it off. So the solution is to take one of the batteries out for packing - and leave one in, so the door snaps on securely. This is not convenient at all and the battery door material does not seem like the toughest plastic, so I don't know how long it will last. For now it's good.

Works Great! Easy to Use! USB Power or Battery!
This Survivor Filter Electric Pro X Water Filtration System is very easy to setup and use and it works great. It has two hoses, one for input and one for output, has an ON-OFF push button on top, and the best part is it's ELECTRIC, so no hand pumping! The electric feature is what convinced us to buy, and also the option of USB or battery power, plus the triple filtration process, the supplier test report with positive results, and the many high reviews from other users. We have this Survivor Filter setup permanently on our kitchen counter for our home drinking water, powered via USB wall plug, see PHOTO. We fill a large clear plastic pitcher with water from our home well system and use this Survivor Filter to pump it out, filter it, and pump the resulting filtered water into a large 3 gallon water dispenser that has a spout. Then clean filtered water is always available at any time via the large dispenser water spout. We use the Survivor Filter every day, 365 days per year, so it's always in constant use. The amount of well water in the pitcher takes about 4 minutes to be filtered and pumped into the large water dispenser and the dispenser holds about 7 pitchers (about 3 gallons). We typically use 4-5 pitchers worth of filtered water per day and each evening we refill the water dispenser, which takes less than 20 minutes or so. For refilling the 3 gallon water dispenser, we purchased a small easy to use battery operated digital timer that beeps continuously after 4 minutes, alerting us that the pitcher is almost empty. Then we turn off the Survivor Filter Pro and refill the pitcher to repeat this process until the 3 gallon water dispenser is full again. We also always take this Survivor Filter with us whenever we go on trips in our RV travel trailer just in case we ever need it. We also purchased the Survivor Filter hand pump model too, as a backup in case this electric unit ever goes out during an emergency situation where electricity, batteries, or USB power are not available. In conclusion we're very happy with this product and do recommend it to others. UPDATE FEBRUARY 2025 We've had our Survivor Filter almost 5 years now (purchased March 2020), and we've used it every day for about 1/2 hour 365 days per year. Recently the internal pump began making a knocking noise, no doubt due to all the use we've put it through. It was working okay during the pump knocking noise, but we knew it would eventually give up the ghost. But we also knew that the Survivor Filter has a lifetime warranty, so we contacted them and filed a warranty claim, easy and quick to do. The very next day we received a response that a brand new same model Survivor Filter was being shipped to us, all at no cost to us, which was received in just a few days. Wow, now that is what's known as GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! Yeah we really like our Survivor Filter Pro X Electric!

Waited 25 yrs for a product like this....
As an avid camper and traveler....i have been waiting 25yrs for a product like this. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Unbelievable product....quiet...fairly fast...with unparalled filtration capability. Best portable water filter I have ever experienced. Well done Survivor Filter! You have a customer for life. Seriously unbelievable. UPDATE..... Used the filter to filter some cooler water from my cooler while camping and the cooler water had a little bit of spilt milk mixed in it. And by a little I mean less than half a cup in a 30 quart cooler Well after filtering maybe a cup of water....and theb filtered water was CLEAN....the intake hose collapsed on me and the pump couldn't get any more water out. I'm assuming it has something to do with the milk. I backflushed the filter with the included syringe maybe 10 times, and it worked again, but at a reduced flow. The hose collapsed again after a cup or two of filtering. Backflushed it again and used on a different water source. It worked again at a slighlty reduced flow but the milk seems to have permanently gummed up the pre filter. Very strange. Otherwise....love this little filter! Keep it away from milky water...thats my two cents. Update... The battery door broke off at the hinge of my beloved water filter and I contacted Survivor Filter to see if there was a replacement battery door they could send to me. They said....NO PROBLEM...we are shipping you an entire new filter at no cost. Seriously? Years later? Guys and girls..and everyone in between...this is the ONLY portable water filter you should ever buy. It's so far been to 7 water-dirty countries with me, in cities and on the trail, and I've never gotten sick from the water. I absolutely love this product and company. Buy as many as you can and keep these guys in business! We all need this filter.

2 years and still going strong
We initially bought this for camping but also found it useful when traveling. It filters out the strange taste of hotel tap water and we feel a little better knowing we're using reusable bottles

Compact, efficient, high quality filter system produces water that is outstanding
I now live in Colombia and bought the manual version of this filter for a trip out into the wilds of Eastern Colombia. Most of the people in our group bought lots of bottled water and had to carry it onto the boats and then to our camp, but I only had my lightweight Survivor filter and a two liter backpack bladder for my water needs. It was an easy walk down to the nearby river to fill up my bladder and the filter quickly filled the bladder with crystal clear water. The amazing part was how great the water tasted! Soon after tasting the water from my filter the others asked if they could use it too and so we all had great tasting water to drink. After returning home to the mountains above Medellin I started using it again after the tap water started getting cloudy after heavy rains. After my Colombian girlfriend tried the water from my Survivor Filter she was amazed and will only drink water that's been through this filter. So I just bought the Survivor Pro X Electric Filter to keep up with our increased usage. It's the same high quality I came to expect from the Survivor Pro manual filter but so much faster. It plugs in with the USB power connection and quietly produces the great water I'm used to. Highly recommended and I bought both filter systems so this is NOT a paid review.

Convenient, easy, and portable
I bought this a while back for backpacking/camping and emergency situations. I haven’t taken it on any outdoor activities yet but, twice we had an emergency water boil order so this filtration system came in very handy. I plug it into a power bank instead of an USB outlet not did I install any batteries just so I can see how much power it would drain from a power pack. I was able to fill up a 2 gallon Igloo water jug within approximately 15 minutes and it barely used stored power from the bank. Obviously it was tap water so there wouldn’t be any clarity issues but, the water tasted just fine. I was so impressed with the performance of this power operated filtration system I also bought the Survivor Pro manual pump one. Compared to other high end brands, the Survivor Pro X and Pro is little bigger but, not so heavy that it would be a burden if you were going to ruck it into the woods. I have several other brand filtration systems for backpacking so I can attest that it’s not bad at all. The Pro X is now my home emergency water filtration and the Pro will be for camping and backpacking. They are much more affordable and pretty easy to maintain as long as you keep extra filters available and handy. Just make sure it is cleaned and completely dried before storing it after using it.

Lazy mans purified water!
Dont really go camping but have always loved filtered water. Currently own a Grayl filter bottle and love it but being able to filter a bigger volume of water is lovely. The first test i did was actually for my 3 cats and dog filling their water container. I filled a 6 gallon water jug then transferred to their container. Nothing but the best for my fur babies! Water taste great and filter works amazing. I dont usually do reviews but wanted to promote a great product. My only complaint is its so quiet i thought it was broken at first! Like literally i had it on the carpet and so the vibration from being on was muffled but i saw the water flowing and was like oh okay it is on. Obviously thats not a complaint but being able to use it and not worry about noise is nice. Good flow rate and easy clean up. Idiot proof instructions too with pictures!
