Really great tinder! I'm so impressed with the length of burn, ease of ignition from a ferro rod, the temperature you actually get out of them is fantastic meaning your winter fire's stand a better chance of catching. I ordered the pack of ten which comes with a really cool tin, meaning you can re-use or top up with the bigger pack of 50, which is exactly what im going to do! These are the real deal! Apologies for the late review. This is an excellent product. I know they will prove invaluable to starting an outdoor camp fire even though I haven't used them yet. They're going into my mini survival kit. The fireplugs come in a handy tobacco style tin, which can be reused once empty. I will be purchasing more and highly recommend them.

Handy in emergencies. Ignite really well. Take up little space in back pack.

I used these 2 years after I bought them to light a barbecue at a campsite. It was dry but windy. The barbecue provided a windbreak. But these would not light, even when I added paper underneath and twigs to help accelerate the fire. I ended up using the whole box.

Used in conjunction with a good Flint and steel it works well.
