The Carpenter: The 3 Greatest Success Strategies of All

This book was a confirmation of how the Lord built the business he put in my hands to steward. He led me to love, serve, care, and build people. “My plan may not be working perfectly, but there’s a perfect plan working in me”. :) Great book! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to lead and teach others to lead.

It's no secret that I love the books that Jon Gordon writes. They are told in a simple manner in very matter of fact statements that make sense. The fact that Jon is always able to tie many things together that help inspire people to not only better themselves, but become better leaders to help/serve others. The Carpenter tells a story of a man who, stressed by work and life in general, collapses in his morning run and finds himself in the hospital. He has been saved by "J", who in saving him in the street also teaches him several steps to save many things in his life and to see what success really is. It's one thing to build something, it's another to create a masterpiece. In the book, you see Michael's transformation to just getting through day by day to work toward his (and his family's) dream. You see him go through struggles, setbacks and challenges and you get to see how he deals with them. Jon's books are always full of great quotes to help you remember the important pieces and inspires you. You learn how the things you do can inspire and teach others as you work through. "There's no such thing as an OVERNIGHT SUCCESS but there are timeless principles to help you stand out. " I enjoyed reading this book and I am looking forward to re-reading it many more times and to use the #LOVESERVECARE principles in all aspects possible. I highly recommend this book to anyone - along with many of his others. It is definitely worth the purchase!

John Gordon has skillfully used a compelling story to help the reader understand the power of focus in your life. Identifying your life priorities, setting goals that create greater focus on those priorities and crafting an efficacious life philosophy identifying your purpose and the "why" of your life is the essence of the Carpenter. Gordon makes his points in a clear, genuine and story-like manner. You'll want to read it more than once!

My son read it before I did and loved it. What a great story

I'm in the process of starting my own business and this book could not have been more timely! It is such an enjoyable, easy read that I finished it in a couple of hours. Each short chapter is filled with wisdom, knowledge and encouragement. I can see myself reading this book a few times over again as I look to implement the principles taught.

It's all about people, simples as that. No matter the kind of business, if you don't take care of people soon or later it will be doomed.

A great and simple story that left a lasting impression on me and inspired my work.
