Beginners
Great book for beginners. I haven’t finished the whole thing yet but I have found this book fills the holes of information you don’t always get from class . Really well written and organized . Great if you are just starting or thinking about starting .

I wish I had it when I started training.
I have been on the mats about 15 months now, and have had this book a little over a week. I wish I had this book when I started training. The concepts Nicolas has shared with us like breathing, angles, posture, etc. as well as his approach before getting on, being on, and being off the mat, has improved my game tremendously in an extremely short amount of time. I have survived more 5 minute rounds with purple and brown belts in the last week, then I have in the last few months. Not only am I surviving, but when the round is over, I am usually still breathing through my nose or back to breathing through my nose shortly after, while the senior guy is smoked. Nothing in this book is worth skipping. The book is 175 pages long, and believe me when I tell you I try to incorporate every word of it into my rolls. His approach, and the way he explains it is absolutely perfect for anyone who enjoys this passion of ours. I highly recommend this book to beginners, as well as the more senior belts. Everyone can learn something from this.

A little misleading title
I have mixed feelings from this book. In part I was expecting something more, perhaps too much more from it. Much of what it points out can be found in the internet. Almost everything can be either deduced or obtained talking with the black belts in your academy. It points out important issues, like visualization, flux diagrams, relaxation, repetition etc that are commonplace in every sport. Perhaps the most relevant parts are those about breathing, yoga and "when in doubt shrimp".In short as the author points out: "I feel that the title of this book may have been somewhat misleading". It is in fact misleading. May be the case it should be titled more precisely as 'some general concepts about jiu jitsu training'.To approach something worthy to be called blueprint it should at least picture a general path through the belts, through the common blocks and plateaus along the path to blackbelt, at least in my opinion. In any case I would rather suggest reading "Zen jiu jitsu " that is more practical and objective oriented.

Blackbelt blueprint review
I'm a 36 year old brown belt. I've been training in jiujitsu for close to 9 and a half years. I just purchased the black belt blue print book and I must say I'm enjoying every little bit of it. I currently find myself in one of the many plateaus I've hit during my training and this book is openning my eyes to new details and ways of approaching my training. This is deffenitly a book I will be referring to again and again for the rest of my life and hope to pass down to my children. This book in my opinion is among the top three must haves for any practitioner of the art. Blackbelt Blue Print, Saulo Ribiero Jiujitsu University, and Paulo Guillobel 21 Immutable Principles of Bjj. I enjoy profrddor nic's work and YouTube tutorials and consider him as one of the most valuable resources in bjj.

In English!!

A Must for Older Grapplers
I decided to get back into Brazilian Ju-Jitsu at 47. I knew my body and mind had changed since the last time I stepped onto the mat after almost 10 years ago and I was right. After a few months of training I came across some videos of Nic on the Internet. I liked his approach, especially his conceptual approach to training, which quite honestly appealed to me, especially as the sun has started to set on my martial arts journey.I purchased his Black Belt Blueprint book precisely because I wanted his wisdom and expertise in print to carry around (personally, I prefer the relationship with a book than a video). The book is well laid out both in its literary and visual content. It shows Nic knows his stuff and his words reflect a welcome format change from many other BJJ books I’ve purchased across in the last few years.I’m almost 50 and being able to look at BJJ from a conceptual point of view has accelerated my learning when I’m on the mat. Probably one of the last BJJ books I will purchase, unless of course Nic decides to publish another one!
