Terrific value here at Amazon, with a mordant thrown in! Remember that acid dyes can be used with the mordant provided, or with simple household white vinegar. The acid is not in the dye, it's all about the mordants. A nice set if you're jumping into dyeing and don't want to invest too much at the start. Remember that your primary colors will be enough to get secondary colors, but to get shades (black or grey added to the hue) or tints (adding white to the hue) you need to expand your dye supply to include those blending colors.

I have made a color gradiation of 66 hues from yellow thru blue to red using GreenerShades dye with silk. I tried to repeat in wool with this Jacquard kit. I was skeptical since the "blue" color name was turquoise, but Jacquard lists it on its website as a primary. Knowing that dyes don't necessarily color true, I took a chance. The 11 shades of yellow through blue made a gorgeous array of greens and turquoise. I should have known that turquoise had enough yellow in it that, when mixed dropwise with red, would make a lovely array of browns. I now have a beautiful afghan in those well-known rainbow colors of red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise and brown.

3 stars for this particular pack of dyes (the dyes themselves are excellent)I suppose the seller can get around this issue by the fact that they don't list the specific jar colors in the description, but as other customers have noted, the Hot Fuchsia which is shown in the product images is not what you get - you receive Fire Red which does not produce the same colors as shown on the included color wheel. If you will receive 'either/or, that should be clearly disclosed.

I thought these were the primary colors. They're not. But they're GORGEOUS! I'VE DYED MY HEART OUT!

The pictures show Hot Fuchia but it comes with Fire Red. Not the same thing. The product itself is great I will continue to use the dyes, but I want the colors shown, not whatever.

The primary colors are red, blue and yellow. This kit contains sun yellow, hot fuchsia, turquoise and jet black. If the kit had blue and red I could make the other colors. Sending it back and buying a kit from an Etsy store that has what I need for less. Appreciate that it has a small container of citric acid but white vinegar works just as well.Giving it three stars because of misleading the customer on the colors in the kit. Otherwise Jacquard is an excellent product.

This would have been great if it actually came with Hot Fucshia, but it came with Fire Red instead. I'm not returning it because it's such a hassle and who knows if I'll get the right color the next time anyway, I'm just ordering a jar of the right color. But beware, if you want fucshia, this may not be the right set for you.

I almost gave it 3 stars because the colors seem to break and at times, especially when mixing. I can't seem to get good coverage on all batches. However, I gave it a 4 because I need to dye more wool and do a few things differently next time to see if it was user error to be fair. I didn't give 5 stars because there are no instructions included with the set and you have to go online to get them. They also aren't the greatest of instructions. On a good note, the colors when they strike properly are as they should be. If I were starting out dying, I wouldn't be afraid to purchase this set.

Lovely set of acid dyes - enough to get started and make different colour combinations.

Ich bin sehr überzeugt von den Jacquard Farben, hab jedoch keine Erfahrungen mit anderen Herstellern. Daher auf jeden Fall für den Einstieg in's Wolle Färben geeignet. Ich habe Schaf-Wollstränge damit gefärbt und bin von den Verläufen und Mischfarben sehr überzeugt. Große Gefäße für eine kleine Menge Pulver, aber ich denke das ist immer so und das Pulver ist sehr ergiebig.

Package came promptly with all colours and citric acid present. The colour wheel was missing, but not really a big deal as you can find it on the Jacquard website.

Haven't used yet but love jaquards quality

Products are exactly as expected. However they arrived a week later than promised.
