I've been hooked since the first book. This second book might even be better. The characters and plot are very well thought out and written. The first book following chloe built the scene for the story and the characters. The plot in this book I think went beyond expectations, it pulled me in the the second page and I couldn't put it down. Cat is the main heroine in this story but all the characters from before are in it as well. I love how throughout the book cat grows as a person learns things about herself and accepts herself the same with sebastian "bash". The story line and ending are amazing even with the cliffhanger! I'm excited to see where the author takes this story and the characters I look forward to many more in this series. VERY WELL DONE! Thank you

I was just a little hesitant to read the second book in this series. I loved Chloe & Levi’s story so much & couldn’t picture leaving their tale for another couple’s. Very glad I took the plunge & read this book. May Sage is an extremely skilled author. Excellent grammar, character development, humor, action, heat, & world development. This series is a great continuation of the storyline of Oldcrest with the addition of new couples.Because I really really really want her to continue this series, I came back here after finishing book 3 (Yes, you should definitely read it!) to leave a review.

I grabbed the 1st in the series as a freebie and was instantly hooked. The character and the universe May created is so different from other paranormal stories I’ve read and I’ve become a fan reading everything I can get my hands on. This is a good series through and through and I’m counting the characters I want to know and hear about hoping they get a feature or book of their own. Hurry and jump on this series you won’t be disappointed.

Bash and Cat don't like each other and Bash calls Cat 'Princess' and Cat sneersat him because she believes that he is a waste and doesn't use his talents tothe best of his ability. It was fun to watch them be frenemies and then havefeelings towards each other as they try to work together. Adults 18+ onlyfor sensual scenes. Must read.

Cat is an outsider at Oldcrest. She doesn't mind as long as she's away from her cruel family. When Bash is turned into a vampire, Cat is drawn to him. Cat has questions and plans to open up to one of her teachers only before she can, she's drugged. When Bash saves her, everything gets complicated.Great story and world building. Although, as Sage did in her first book, this one isn't wrapped up at the end. You are left with questions and secondary characters are given more book time than they deserve. Overall, a fun read and worth it.

Everything you want in a good book is here. A truly interesting and different story with a lot of unexpected elements, and a large cast of characters that includes vampires, witches, fae, shifters, and more! The characters are written well, we get to know who they are and because of that we care about what happens to them. A wonderful setting that opens the way for many more stories about this large cast is something that makes me very happy, and I look forward to reading more stories from May Sage, in this setting and others she's created.

This is one of my favorite series. The poaching and flow of the books keeps you reading. The characters are relatable and you want to see them succeed.Cat is wonderful and the character growth is wonderful to see, same with Bah, his struggle is tangible.Trust might be hard for them but those they truly trust stand beside them throughout.There might be a clear ending but the over arcing storyline leaves you wanting to keep reading.I highly recommend this book, I hope this series keeps going, I love it!

I get lost in this series. There is so much detail and thought put into the story. I normally like more “romantic” scenes in a book to keep me interested but the story has me on the edge of my seat wanting more and more!

Wow! What a story! Almost as good as the firat in the series, mayba even better, I can't really tell. I can't stop reading, so addictive! Excellently written, more a tale then a romance, feels like a Harry Potter, Twilight Saga and Vampire Diaries thrown in a mixer and spit out like a delicious cocktail that never tasted better. Well worth your while, can't wait for the next in the series!Absolutely marvelous job by both narrators, I love all the accents, plays and voices. Really great job! Thank you!

I liked the story, but it is not better than the first book. Cat character lacks the charisma Chloe has...Love this author though!

This second book of the series continues the plot but it from the point of view of two of the supporting characters from Book 1. This book focuses on Bash, the Huntsman who was attacked by a Feral and was cured by Chloe’s blood. He is now a vampire but he is different from most. It takes him much longer to gain control and he is filled with anger. He relies on an escort to keep other’s safe from his vast hunger.Cat is a born vampire who was turned a year previously. She was sent to Oldcrest by her family to seduce Levi, but she had no intentions of doing so, especially when he and Chloe got together. What she did find at The Institute was freedom from the horrific demands placed on her by her family and for the first time in her life she was finding friends.These two characters find themselves as outsiders looking in at the kind of life they want to lead and are drawn to each other. At the same time the enemies of Chloe are gathering outside the walls of Oldcrest. It’s time for everyone to decide what side they stand on.
