A group of young urban offenders and their care workers embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. Visiting the local pub the Dirty Hole which serves suspiciously hairy pork scratching, they quickly realise they ve made the wrong holiday choice. When an incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare, it s not a case of who will survive, but what will be left. This is a demented horror film with nowt taken out.

Ee bah gum, this were reet good!
I'm big fan of Herschell Gordon Lewis' '2000 Maniacs' and its modern day remake '2001 Maniacs'. So when I heard there was a similar sort of film crossed with a 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' vibe, set in god's own country, I had to give it a try, and lad... were I not disappointed! Humour, creepy music effects, unsettling atmosphere and nasty deaths pulsating with GORE!. The acting is not bad and all the characters are likeable in their own way. I actually felt sorry for some of them prior to their impending dooms. As with most horror films, the antagonists steal the show and they steal it big time, especially Seamus O'Neill who was just a joy to watch and listen to when he was on. The gore itself was effective, if not cartoonish, but if you are a fan of Peter Jackson and his 'Braindead' and 'Bad Taste' films, you will enjoy the effects here. The ending was not something I was expecting, but it worked. All in all, I judge a Horror film on how memorable it is, and this one will stick with me for a very long time. This will NOT appeal to everyone (but what does?), but in my opinion, with the relentless "jump scares" and CGI-heavy films that are constantly being churned out, Hollywood should take notice... this is one of the best Horror films I've seen in a while.

A really GOOD bad British horror comedy film.
I wasn't expecting much, put this on whilst renovating for some noise in the background whilst I tackled a dirty job (removing fibreglass from a workshop roof to update its heat retention). It doesn't start off well, but when I saw Jo Hartley was in it as a social worker with the group of "bad kids" I thought i'd give it a chance, so glad I did as it is a fun horror mickey take packed with horror tropes & doesn't take itself in the least bit seriously. You know this the moment you notice the pub name " the dirty hole" & the malcontents inside, & then you will likely forgive anything that comes after, because it is all fair game where horror comedy & a low budget is concerned."Inbred" !? ...yes they most certainly are, a bit of texas chainsaw massacre, retarded villages, porn magazines with animal heads pasted over that of the models, ...& a ringleader who bears a resemblance to Papa Lazarou (league of gentlemen).Indeed this is a northern comedy horror so maybe even twinned with Royston Vasey? ..the gore factor (especially in the latter part of the film is carried off nicely via the countrymans favourite the double barrel shotgun, plus bear traps, ferrets & land mines.Worth watching on a rainy day, ..it may amuse you more than the weather.

Laugh!.....I thought I'd never start.
"Comedy horror" is a juxtaposition which has to be done really well for it to work. Think Shaun of The Dead, Theatre of Blood and Carry On Screaming.... all undeniably funny but set up with a horror backdrop. This...er.... film misjudges every aspect from start to finish. The horror element is undeniable to even the most casual observer, thanks to the ubiquitous chainsaws, axes and missing body parts (oh yeah, sorry, spoiler alert...ah, you'll get over it). But the ham fisted attempts to crowbar comedy content into the mess is completely and utterly butchered thanks to the inappropriately brutal level of gore it tries to play off (no doubt done with the best of intentions and a nod and a wink to all the great horror films which it draws from). A woeful script, imbecilic dialogue, near total absence of plot and a vacuum crying out to be filled by at least one relatable character, be they "goody" or "baddy" goes a long way to making this the worst film I've seen for a very long time, and it's up against some mammoth turkeys. There's also some abominably amateurish editing towards the end, which made no sense and looked as if nobody involved with the film production had actually bothered watching it all the way through. I can't honestly say I blame them... would but I had their resolve!

Master of None
It's dizzying to consider the many stages of development the Inbred team went through to arrive at the finished article, and that nobody decided the scheme was ill-conceived at best. The basic plot of Inbred is all too familiar, homicidal rustic folk terrorise hapless tourists, but here at least we attempt a comic spin on the format, albeit with mixed results. Perhaps the single element in the film that fulfils it's brief in full is the blood and gore, there are disembowelings and exploding heads aplenty, but even the violence descends into silliness as we scrape the barrel in a doomed quest for laughs. It's fair to say, had Inbred been produced in recent times we surely would have reconsidered the inclusion of certain stylistic ingredients, without giving anything away there are some questionable elements presented in the name of comedy/horror that may seem indefensible to the contemporary viewer.Inbred is best described as a film that aims to cater for many tastes but fully satisfies none, too absurd to be horrific and too nasty to be funny, despite the best efforts of cast and special effects team Inbred is a muddled creation and somewhat of an embarrassment to it's makers.

Drinking In The Gore Down The Dirty Hole & On A Roll
Fantastic bunch of characters & in a vague sense, you wished em all well, but I must say, what an amazing ending! I wish more Hollywood action movies had endings like this, instead of all that predictable against all the odds scenarios! At least the hero in this film, if you can call him that didn't get all the birds & make out like a bandit, lol! If you love a bit of straight blood n gore, then this is definitely for you! Sit back, enjoy my friends & adios!ππΊπ»π·ππ
