LOVE IT
Jeremy's books are NEVER a disappointing! I have to be honest I had bought this book under its previous title XOM-B for my kindle (I have all of his books on kindle- they are ones I revisit and read my favorite parts) but I so loved the new CRAZY cover I bought again and deleted the previous one out of my kindle! That is how much I enjoy his books. They are fast paced, out of this world with humor, action, and characters that stay with you well after the book is finished.

Robinson's XOM-B packs a punch in more ways than one!
When I first discovered Jeremy Robinson, I kept seeing comparisons like "The next James Rollins!" Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a comparison like that. As a matter of fact, it would make almost any author's heart proud to be associated like that. But lately, I've been realizing something about Jeremy Robinson's work. Without a doubt, he's becoming his OWN man. A more apropos comparison would be "Jeremy Robinson is the NEXT Jeremy Robinson" because each book he writes is better than the last. Xom-B is proof positive that my assessment is correct.I won't bore you with the same analysis of the story said over and over again (such as "It's his best book yet!"). Although, in my opinion, it's true (outside of The Last Hunter series, that is). But the concept of "best book or not" is highly subjective and I'll let you, the reader, be the judge of that for yourself. But what I found this book had more of than any that came before it was "punch". By that, I don't mean the rip-roaring, two-fisted action we've all come to expect from Robinson. There's plenty of that in this book to be sure. No. What I'm talking about is that the "punch" is directed directly at us...at our gut...at our minds...at the very way we see the world around us. It's not preachy at all...don't take what I'm saying the wrong way. But the discoveries made by Freeman and his cohorts in this book paints a picture of "Life" and "existence" and "being human" very different than the way most of us perceives those things to mean. As Freeman himself pondered, perhaps it is time we re-evaluate what it means to truly be alive. What it means to be dead. And most importantly, what legacy we leave when we are gone. But before I sound too philosophical...before I make this book to be some great treatise on the human condition...make no mistake. At its core, this is one heckuva thrilling, sci-fi/horror/action-adventure/mystery all wrapped into a single volume. The difference is...unlike many thrillers out there, this one has true heart thumping to the beat of each three dimensional character (and before you say anything, yes. Many of the characters DO start out rather two dimensional and, perhaps, a bit cliche'. But that's the beauty of this book about "extinction...evolved". None of the major characters at the beginning of the book are the same at the end (with the exception of the ones who REFUSED to change). They all grow. Evolve. Until finally, when it's all over...well, I'll just let you see for yourself. I'm just going to say, I could NOT be more thrilled and more satisfied with this book. And I hope you will be too.A FINAL NOTE: For the most part, I listened to the audiobook production of this book narrated by the always AMAZING R.C. Bray. Like Robinson, his performance in this did NOT disappoint. His ability to "create" such vivid characterizations of even the most "insignificant" character is astounding. Even if you've already read the book, I highly encourage you to experience completely anew with the audiobook edition.

Hold On To Your Seat
Think back to kindergarten. How old were you? Five, six? The world was just beginning to fall into place, your mind wasjust beginning to process logic and knowledge, storing it away in a library full of endless shelves to be browsed wheneveryou felt like it.But now imagine that one day, the world just falls apart. There's no rhyme or reason. Everything that you once knew wassuddenly turned upside down. Neither logic nor naivet can help you. The books in those shelves aren't worth the paperthey're printed on. You are helpless, left to figure out this vast, frightening, dangerous world on your own.Welcome to the mind of Freeman. The title of this book, Xom-B, is terrifyingly appropriate. Yes, it is a zombie story. But like the spelling, it's as farfrom conventional as you can get. Based in the not-so-distant future, a revolution has occurred that has left the worldin the hands of a whole new breed of beings. No, not aliens, not inter-dimensional beings; but a creation of"The Masters." Having broken the bonds of "the Grind," these beings have created a utopia. Or so they thought.Freeman is a man out of time; he sees the world through logic and naivete, aided by his only friend, known only as "Heap."When the world comes crashing down upon them, they are tasked by their keepers to go out and find the source of the biting,flesh-eating horde of zombies that are wreaking havoc upon their utopia and threatening to end the very existence they allfought so hard to earn. The journey Freeman embarks upon with his friend Heap and other friends he picks up along the way is as much a thrillingroller coaster ride as it is a journey of remarkably realistic self-discovery and soul-searching. It is as much a novelof the self-discovery we must all go through at some point in our lives as it is about a futuristic utopia filled withzombies. What Jeremy Robinson has accomplished is a fresh and wholly original reimagining of the story George Romero began decadesago. Told in a first person format, you are forced to process Freeman's emotions as your own. His experiences play out inyour mind as raw and unfiltered as they happen to him. There are times while reading this book I got so lost in his world,I almost forgot we lived in our own. This novel is for anyone who loves zombies, sci-fi, horror, and everything in between. You will not regret buying this novel.Happy reading, and don't forget to breathe.-The Librarian

I feel like I have been ripped off
I feel like I have been ripped off. This book is just XOM B retitled. This should be made clear to prospective purchasers! I really love Jeremy Robinson's books and really enjoyed Xom B. However I purchased Freeman thinking it was a new story only to find that it was the same as Xom B!!!! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!! DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE ALREADY READ XOM B
