First you have to slide the back off. Then you have to figure out what code to scan because all the instructions are in Chinese. Then you have to select China as your area on the ap, but when u first sign up select USA and click bottom right icon to sign up with an email. The next problem I faced is that it picked my 5 g wireless which kept giving me the error of timing out. I then selected 2.5 network and it finally worked. You have to also figure out when the code is scanned, it tells u verbally but it’s in Chinese. I spent probably 3 hours getting it to work. After I did, it has very good video. The signal worked 75 feet away. The ap seems stable. No cloud fees. It’s not waterproof. It has an indoor wireless bell when someone rings the door. Non recharable batteries. Others have that. And if u don’t select Chinese region it won’t let u find the product. Type DOOR in the search to find it. I’m going to order a waterproof model next, with rechargeable batteries. It’s definately worth the money... just don’t get mad from the quirks setting it up. I’ll update this and compare it to another model soon. Just wanted to save people hours setting it up!

It works for me but maybe not for everyone.I don’t know how other people set the doorbell up as there was no ‘smart doorbell’ option on their app! I was so confused and checked multiple times and I am pretty sure their English version app doesn’t even support this doorbell.So I am glad that I am a Chinese so I switch the app to Chinese Version, then the doorbell function finally showed up.I don’t know how should I contact the seller so I decided to write down this review to remind them to check their app platform.Other than that, the doorbell works pretty good, the set up was easy, even the doorbell ringtones have tons of options and you can customize the security function.

first i'm an mi 's fans love them product and app,i got couple camera outside cover most area.but still has some angle not cover clear. this doorbell just perfectly cover that angle. let you know who's coming .what they do on first time . two way talk let you easy talk your home visitor especial for delivery. when i try set up this smart wireless wifi Video Doorbell , it took me a little bit hard time ,try many time always can't find this Doorbell from my Mi's app . thanks google i change my region to china from Mi's app settings. then problem has been solved. anyway it has nice quality as Mi's family always , app working great .looking great (iphone's simple design)my flavor. and******* sellers use manual must be English please!!!!!

So I followed the instructions online since the region doesn’t technically let you access the doorbell unless you explicitly follow the directions. That would have been completely fine with me if not for the other constant notifications that I cannot read happening twice a day, unrelated to someone being at my door. The most I can gather is they are ads for the App Store within the doorbell app, but I can’t read them since I set the region to China, again, because that’s the only way to make the doorbell functional. Fix your ads because I’m not going to purchase anything that a) I don’t know what it is; b) it’s not regional to anywhere but China, c) they shouldn’t be happening multiple times daily. I’m going to just buy a different brand.

Once I was able to somehow get it to work, all the instructions are in chinese. i was led by reviews from customers who provided description on how to install. it worked for about 7 weeks. Now, it doesnt' work!!!! changed batteries, i've reset it and nothing. I don't know how else to troubleshoot it, or whom to contact. what a waste of money!!! Don't bother. save yourself the headache and go with an American product.

Beautifully designed and work fine. Caveat, I received the item with all instructions in Chinese only. I did some research and found steps to install. However, you must choose the country as China to be able to add this item to the app. It does not support if you choose US as a country. Luckily one of the user review here point that out and that solved my issue after spent days try to install this.

I would definitely share my amazon shopping experience here. this is the koolest item we got from amazon website so far, we have to replace the old one, so now compare with it, we fell more comfy with our house,and more safe wgen someone outside ring the bell, because we can see who is through app on my phone. also its easy install , only thing not sure if its waterproof. so far all of my family like it, will come back for update.

You will receive both picture and video notifications on your phone indicating there is someone ringing the door bell and there is motion detected in your front door. I think it would be very good addition to your home security. However, the set up was a little confusing. After downloaded the "mijia" app-->set up the account-->choose "China" as your "region", and when connecting your phone with the device, in the search area, type in "door" to connect the right device and the just follow the rest of the steps to finish up.
