Well, it actually works as far as the levitation goes. I'm not sure if it spins itself, but if you spin the ring, it keeps turning for hours. Really cool and everyone that sees it now wants to buy one! I would not keep anything breakable on it, as if it looses power for even a split second, the magnet gives and it slams down. Still, I might buy a couple more for gifts. By the way, this packaged was packed better than anything I've ever received in the mail. Like quadruple packed with foam, and a sheet metal liner. Took me about 10 minutes to open haha!
