Amazing speaker that is sure to impress after the break in
I have to say that these speakers have impressed me beyond any expectations I could have had. I bought these online without ever hearing them. I shopped strictly for specs when researching these. I went to Best Buy and local stereo shops to listen because I didn't want to take a chance with buying something, installing it and then having to take hit with the 15% restock fee if I didn't like them. Short story, I found nothing I liked. They had plenty in store but nothing I wanted to hear was hooked up. Youtube is your friend. I am a bit of an audiophile for my home theater and music listening. So I am very familiar with what sounds good rather than what sounds loud. I put these together with a JVC head unit. Focal recommends a break in period and I can honestly say I was skeptical. However after having two different people plus myself listen to these when first installed then those same two people listen two weeks later; the sound was dramatically better. I believe in the break in for these particular speakers. The highs of these are so incredibly precise that you would swear they are component; and the clarity is real life without being shrill. The mids and bass are very accurate and their detail level is spot on. Keep in mind these are not bass speakers but they can and do produce some very good and hard hitting 60hz notes. They will dip into the 40hz range but they loose some of their composure at loud volumes in doing so. I have these in all 4 doors of my Chevy Trailblazer and most people will swear I have an underseat sub. These speakers do hit hard when powered up. My JVC head unit is Cea-2006 compliant and rated at 20 watts x4 into 4 ohms. Basically that means that the power stated is in fact the power delivered. These speakers sounded great with just that amount of power however I heard a video on youtube with these amplified and decided to add in an amp. I used the Rockford Fosgate PBR-300.4 This miniscule amp is a true power house and at about the dimensions of a greeting card that is 2.5 inches thick. Talk about making things come to life, that is the set up I would recommend. I was going to install small subwoofer but after adding the amplifier decided I did not need one. Overall, fantastic quality speaker with amazing acoustic ability. Highly recommend.

Amazing speakers
So I was a little scared buying these speakers. I have been pushing around some 2005 Alpine Type "R" coaxials and finally had one go bad. New Type "R"s push over $200 and wasn't looking to spend $400 to match all my speakers, so I bought these entry Focals along with the 6.5 Component set as well. I shouldn't have worried at all. The coaxials sound phenomenal, I actually had to re-tune my system to make up for the tweeters (the Alpine's were silk dome for soft sound, these punch brighter and higher with aluminum inverted dome). I know some people do not like brash sounding tweeters, if you enjoy softer toned music such as jazz, you might want to look for a different speaker. However, I like a variety of music and these speakers can cover the range quite well. They punch, but not too hard, the mid-range has a higher frequency band, so to truly bring out the lower end... think subwoofer. Overall very impressed, I knew I wasn't getting the "Utopia" line, but the "Access" line does not miss.

Audiophile quality speaker
I have a pair of these and a JL audio 8" sub in the back in a subaru forester.... These speaker will require you to do some fabrication to the door panel but...... it's well worth it if you consider yourself and audiophile. The tweeters sound great, mids are clear and detailed and the woofer cone puts out some impressive clean punch. Paradigm monitor 7 series and 4 subs in my home is my gold standard and my car audio is sounding pretty comparable now. I have then amped 50 watts rms per channel and they sound good... Could prob take a little more! Very happy with this purchase.

Great speakers
GREAT speakers, especially the tweeter. They are astoundingly great sounding. I listened to the high end version of focal, and although better sounding (slightly in my opinion) they don't justify the price difference on the higher freq. They sound better on the bottom end, but I cut that end out on my front stage so it didn't matter. Some may say its harsh, that may be if you just throw them in without setting them up. I say it's perfect if you know how to tune your system and balance the frequencies. They made sounds and tones stand out that I never heard in the car before. They sounded brilliant in and out of the car. The ability to adjust the tweeters swivel is excellent for keeping the axis on point. You'll live in a dream, The woofer has a great smooth tone (the way i tuned my system i cant really go more in depth with this). I ended up blowing the tweeters because I was pushing them more than they could handle. I only wish they could handle more power.

Cool Speakers
I was really looking to upgrade/replace my stock JBL speakers after many years of service that came with my 2004 Celica GTS. I found that the Focal Access 165 CA1 were a superb choice. Alignment is a bit off but the end results far exceeded expectations. Great product.

Received the wrong speaker
I ordered the focal access 165 CA1 speaker, but recieved the new integration line speaker instead. Still a decent speaker but not as nice as the one I ordered, nor was it what I needed for my system. The integration line seems to have louder mids which sets my car off balnce a bit, but may be usefull if locating speaker where some of the mid notes could drop off (i.e. under rear deck material).
