Quite a good reference book.
This book is quite good for anyone trying to learn Spanish. There are quite a lot of photos and terms to help you with common nouns. My wife loved this gift.

Like this dictionary with the workbook.
I am an ESL teacher and like this dictionary with workbook for newcomers. They take it home for independent homework and vocabulary reinforcement. I really like the CDs component that goes with the workbooks too.
