Same as set 3! Do not buy
Nothing against the seller, the book arrived on time and in great condition. But my son finished reading set 3 and when he started set 4, he realized he had ALREADY READ THOSE BOOKS! What a waist of money Bob Books.. They are the exact same books from the previous set! Not cool!

Perfect for new reader, better than earlier sets though
I taught my daughter to read last summer using the Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons book. By using that book, she's quite far ahead a lot of "beginning readers" books. However, I have been finding any character level 1 books (i.e. Fancy Nancy, Pinkalicious, anything you can buy at Target basically) to be all over the road in terms of difficulty and they do not follow ANY phonetic pattern at all. Words like "through" and "castle" will be in there instead of similar words with the same sounds like "frogs, dogs, bog" etc.BOB books follow phonetic building, meaning all the books have similar sounds that kids can master and then build on (one book with all short a sounds, all short i sounds, etc.). You will not find random words that are way too hard and jarring for a five year old to figure out suddenly. We got the set 4, complex words. We had been given a few books from set 1 from a friend and those were a little too easy.I so wish we had a few sets of these books immediately following using the 100 lessons book because that would have saved me a lot of headache in finding books she could actually read. I was using "Level 1" readers from local stores that were too hard/inconsistent or this set of Scholastic books in level A and all the pictures gave the words away. I like that these are short, the photos are fun but do not completely give the words away so they still have to read them. My daughter reads these without any tears. It's a joy for her!

Educator approved!
I cannot say enough about Bob's books. They are great! I taught my son how to read using all of the levels and I have used them with my students as well. I even refer them to friends and parents of my students. It features repetitive reading with various colored levels. Children do not move up in level unless they have red with 100% accuracy of the previous level. Bob's books are must to teach children to read. You will be surprised at how fast your little one becomes a reader.

We love these for an 8 yo struggling reader
My daughter is a struggling reader. These really give her confidence. They are short and gradually get more difficult. She so proud when she reads 4-5 of them.

Taught my Kid to Read!
We love BOB books they have almost single handedly taught my son to read! He is 5. Just started homeschool kindergarten and he can already read all of these. And easy readers level 1 & 2. I recommend them. And recommend starting where you need to & continuing with each set as they are in order. I paid $5.99 on sale for this and that was a excellent price!

Great set for beginning readers
Wish I would have purchased these two years ago. I just bought the most advanced set for my 1st grader and they are a bit easy for him. But, glad I bought them because they have worked to boost his reading confidence. We'll pass our sets on to a younger friend. Great books!

Learn to read
I am a teacher that now homeschools my dyslexic daughter. These books are awesome for phonics instruction and sight words. We have all of the sets and read about 4-5 a day.

We love Bob Books
I purchased this for my 5 year old who did so well reading the Set 1 of the series. I had her sample Set 2 and Set 3 but she whisked right through them. After reading the recommendation from other parents I skipped Set 2 and 3 and went right to 4. It is challenging but it is so great seeing her sound the words out and work them out in her head.

The first two sets of BOB Books were honestly the greatest thing ever for teaching my preschooler his beginning reading skills. Once he was mid-way through the third set, however, he was proficient enough that he really wanted to read more interesting and visually engaging stories. Around that time, we shifted to the "Tug the Pup" series, and he progressed through boxes 1-3 (reading levels A-G). Set 4 of the BOB Books is now well below his reading level, and he finds the stories and illustrations boring in comparison to other age-appropriate material. I cannot recommend highly enough the first two sets of BOB Books for teaching your child to read, but you can probably take a pass on anything beyond set 3.

My child love to read bob books
My child love to read bob books. There are other reading books for his reading level, however, he prefers to read bob books. Words are appropriate and easy for him to follow. My kid gains his reading confidence through these books. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Highly recommended
Bob books have been a real boon with helping my kids learn to read. The learning curve seems a lot more gradual than the books offered up through kindergarten and grade one. Set four continues a good thing with some larger words. We'll be moving along with the series!
