If Life Is a Bowl of Cherries, What Am I Doing in the Pits?

What a National Treasure!
I had heard of Emma Bombeck over the years but had not read her work until now. I generally get my reading done while taking a bubble bath. My neighbor probably knows I'm crazy for all of the howls of laughter she heard. It would be a disservice for you to pass up this book. She was relevant then and forever. Thank you, Erma. You're a real treasure!

wonderful. timeless.
I love Erma’s heartfelt musings. I wish we had more Ermas among us. The world could certainly use her humor nowadays. She passed away way too soon.

The book is a time capsule of sorts, reflecting the nature of our society at the time in which it was written. There are a few tremendously funny parts and many great observations about life and human nature-- all of which transcend time. In general, I seem to remember it being a bit more funny, but that was probably due to the fact it was first read within the context of a different decade and point in my life. Bottom line, it's a light enjoyable read, to which we all can still relate.

Kindle version is great
I have the Kindle version of this book. I still get a kick out of Erma Bombeck's writing! The Kindle version is good and is actually complete. On occasion it seemed like a page was missing. However, I skipped ahead a couple of pages or back a couple of pages and when I went to where I left off again, the "missing" page would then be there. A minor inconvenience though.

If Life Is a Bowl Of Cherries - the inimitable Erma Bombeck
For me the humor began subtly, in about 45 pages I was laughing out load. As the book approaches the end Erma interjects some touching and inspiring personal insights. Recommended if you’re looking for some quick, relaxing, and very funny reading.

What happens when life gives you a sad face one minute and a happy face the other. The Virus had put all of us in a big pit of thought's that make us wonder when the USA will get us out . Enjoyed.

Seems to be a new tradition
I read this book at the end of my 5th grade year in school (yes, it was a newer book that long ago) and I thought it was really fun to read a book that seemed to make light of the things I saw my mom struggle with. Just for fun, I ordered it for my daughter to read, as she exits 5th grade. I hope that she finds it equally funny.

Read this book if you need a laugh!
One of my favorite books by Ms. Bombeck. Have had the paperback for at least 40 years, and am happy to have the digital version now.

Yellow pages and ripped cover . Shocking state
I understand that the book was probably second hand but it was in such a shocking state that I threw it straight in the bin ! Didn’t want to touch it to repackage .. The cover was totally ripped .. the book smelt musty and the pages were all yellow .. Totally unfit to read or touch in the condition that it arrived .. where on earth has it been to get in this condition .. !!!!!

the famous humourist
Erma has never failed to surprise her I am a big fan of her books- her book on family ties didn't leave an instance to bring smile and sometimes even lol on my face. Erma knows how to put everyday life together and then hit it hard.
