Referencing the origins of the term 'Quality TV' this book manages to engage with contemporary issues surrounding the Quality TV studies field. However, while they discuss the problems generated by use of the word 'quality' and its implications for value judgments, canonical organization, and class structures, they all fall short to offer a strong argument on how to actually deal with these issues.Regardless, and to keep this brief, this is a fantastic book to introduce its readers to the concept of Quality TV without ignoring the various ways in which scholarship has yet to address the subject.
