A wonderful little machine that will provide plenty of wonderful snacks and dietary options.
The media could not be loaded. So, I made 2 videos, but it turns out you can only post 1. I am learning the whole video review thing, so it happens. Anyway, I will try to put the gist of video 2 in this write up. This machine is a wonderful little appliance. It makes about as much noise as deflating a rubber raft or an electric kettle. I ran it for 8 hours initially, testing its effects on a banana, but then added another 12 hours, thus running it over night, as the banana was still pretty soft. I couldn't hear it from my bedroom, and it has an automatic shut off (after an alarm that goes off for about a minute- a really loud alarm, so be forewarned), so I had no concerns about leaving it to run while I slept. After 20 hours I could see why the instruction manual gives such a wide window of time for dehydrating. The banana pieces were still pliable, but they had a consistency of candied fruit. Another 10 hours would probably make them dry chips like trail mix. I like the candied consistency, and this makes a healthy snack option for anyone trying to lose weight without wanting to feel too disciplined in the process. This is a wonderful product, easy to use and easy to maintain. Definitely a good buy.

This dehydrator is very light weight and really looks nice. It is fits nicely on my counter and does not take up much counter space . I have never had a food dehydrator before so I am unsure how others work but this one is very quiet when on.We have used it to dehydrate apples and zucchiniFor the apples we cut them into bite size pieces, soaked them for about 20 minutes in apple juice , then mixed them in honey and cinnamon for flavoring. They can out very tasty but I think we should have increased the time as they were still kind of softFor the zucchini we sliced them into a thin coin shape , mixed them with olive oil and sea salt for flavor. I also should have increased the drying time but as I am a newbe at this I think they came out pretty goodThis dehydrator is very easy to use. The only thing I wish is the instruction booklet that comes with it had more recipe ideas but there are quite a few you can find on line

A cute little efficient machine that will provide variety of snacks and no more wastage of fruits and vegetables
This is a good quality product. We were just looking for alternative for eating veggies rather then boiling them. My friend recommended this to me and I thought of trying it.It's light weight and easy to use. I made some dehydrated apples and they turned out well. This has 5 trays to use and they stack together very easily. You can set the time which needs to dehydrate the food and set the temperature. All given features works great. It comes with the booklet which gives details about suggested time and preparation for different foods . I'm really a big fruit person and love to dry my own fruits and was planning to make dried fruit as a healthy snack. I was always hesitate when purchasing kitchen gadgets think it would be typical to clean it. It's easy to clean as well. This product is perfect for my need and would recommend it.

Cute and efficient... with some caveats.
Still in early days. I like this dehydrator. It has a nice compact size for my small kitchen. Time and temp controls are easy to understand. Trays stack fine once you get the hang of them; ( line up the tabs and slots for maximum space between trays when dehydrating.)I set the time to end in the middle of the night, which is when it went off with beeping that sounded like a smoke detector. "Is my house on fire?" Is an idea I'd rather not have when it is simply my dehydrator shutting off. I checked it today and it will sound like a smoke detector--going off in 3 beeps for 34 times and then, mercifully, it stops.I'm a little disappointed that there are no fruit roll/jerky trays (inserts) that fit this. The ones from Presto do not fit as they are round and the Melinda trays are oval. The manual leaves out some important information, such as what TEMPERATURE to use. The dehydrator is in CELSIUS which means I have to look up each recipe elsewhere and note temp in the manual.I am a little concerned at how long this will last as it is an off brand. I am going to be gentle with it, because I want it to last a very long time. It is very cute. So far I have made pears and they are just fine. The 5 trays filled using just 3 large pears which is perfectly fine with me. It is hot enough that they did not brown at all (I did not do a soak). I'm happy so far.

Do not buy
Extremely sub-par item. I was considering spending a little extra to get a better unit, but decided to settle on this one. In hind-sight I would definitely recommend spending a little more to avoid this product.Directly out of the box, the green control part on the front was coming off, and the plastic shelves were hard to remove from one another. As careful as I was to take them apart, a piece of plastic broke off. The entire thing is very flimsy and poorly made. Do not waste your money on it.

It isn't working, but could be user error
I am trying to use this for the first time. When it is plugged in you can hear that it is heating (and feel the heat after a few minutes) but the temp/time and start buttons do not do work. I watched a video of someone using it and the buttons click and the display lights up. Ours does not do that. However I have lost the instruction booklet (can't find one on-line) so this all could be user error. Any one have any ideas? Thanks1
