LapTuk Stand For MacBook/MacBook Pro 13" & 15"

This is a great idea for those of us running a laptop to an external monitor. One problem I found with this design is that you have to bring the whole laptop out to start it (of course, you can always leave it on using the sleep function). Not the greatest situation when you have all the cables attached to the side of the macbook. I haven't been able to find a way to start a macbook from the external keyboard.Other than that, great product.

This monitor stand is has a nice low profile and is very sturdy. It hardly takes up any more room on my desk than my MacBook Pro. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to disconnect all the cables in order to slide the laptop out from under the stand. For instance, if you need to restart the laptop be pressing and holding the power button. Fortunately that doesn't happen very often.

The main point of the LapTuk is to free up desk space. Laptops are big and can take up a good amount of your desk space when plugged into an external monitor. With the LapTuk, all you have to do is slide in your MacBook, plug it in, and BOOM. It’s as simple as that to allow yourself more space to work. Speaking of plugging in your computer, this stand comes with open sides which allow you to plug-in cables in every port. Also, there are little slots on​ the back which allow you to run your cables through for better cable management. One disadvantage to this stand is not being able to slide out your MacBook unless all of the cables are unplugged. One last feature of the LapTuk is the rubber grip pads on the bottom. I’m happy they’re there, but they don’t seem to work too well for me. The stand is a little too easy to slide around for my preference. I do appreciate that they keep my desk from being scratched. The LapTuk Stand does exactly what’s intended perfectly. Despite the rubber pad issue, I think this stand is still very useful and looks really sleek. The stand comes in 15-inch and 17-inch variation to support all of the MacBook’s. Even if you don’t own a MacBook, it still makes for a great monitor stand.

Overpriced heavy piece of not sufficiently polished metal that was not proportioned correctly for my device and setup, so I returned it. I would encourage others to look elsewhere, and I encourage LapTuk to improve their products in order to justify the costs.

I stuck my cinema display on top of it and it's working out nicely. After about 8 months it's starting to bend down a little bit in the middle, but when I clean next time I'll take the display off it and try to bend it back a little. It's fine though.The only problem (and this is really a problem with my Mac) is that when my machine doesn't want to properly go into closed-book mode, I have to unplug everything to slide it out from under, because it blocks everything with the foot on the left side. Not a big deal, but it can be annoying at times.I also question whether this negatively affects heat transfer. I don't do any sort of video editing or anything that keeps my Mac under high load for extended periods of time, but if I did, I don't think I'd be using this.

Excellent! It is just a piece of metal but it does the trick and does it well. Heavy enough to support my 27-inch monitor while allowing my Macbook Pro Retina room to breathe. It is a little pricey but made of a good quality, heavy, sturdy metal.

This thing is pretty cool. Looks great with my Lap Top. It is heavy duty and well finished. Only 4 stars for one reason. I really wish the cord access notch in the rear were just a little bigger. Otherwise it is perfect.

Good solid product. Very functional. Worth the space saving price. Some complain of color. However, this product is made of steel and not aluminum. Otherwise it could not hold the weight of the monitor. Thus, being made of steel, it has to be painted. It is difficult to exactly match the color of aluminum with the necessary coating. I know because I used to do that for a living. Once you get it set up on your busy desk, you will not notice the color difference so much. Definitely not a deal killer.
