Great costume!
Let me start by saying that I have only been sewing for about half a year but I do sew a lot now. I made view C and I found the pattern to be pretty straight forward and not terribly difficult. It was lots of fun to choose the many different colored and textured fabrics that this costume requires. I left out the fleece that is included in the instructions because it would have been way too warm for California. It really didn't seem to make any difference. The costume turned out great and My husband received tons of compliments, including some from professional film industry costumers who were at the party we attended My husband especially liked that he could remove the coat when he got too warm while still having the great looking jacket on, therefore, not ruining the look of the costume. I made this one for my husband and Simplicity 1138 in complementary colors for myself. We were the hit of the party.I highly recommend it.

It turns out that I'm a descended from Deitrich Pauppenhausen, a German tailor. First, I need to practice my sewing, but yeah, I'm gonna eventually makes these.

Perfect patterns
I've looked everywhere for pieces of the Hobbits clothing and while I wasn't able to find anything already made, these were able to get the job done!

Not a new pattern
I ordered this pattern under the impression that it was new and uncut. Then when I opened it the first thing i see is that two pieces were already cut to a size too small for what I need. If the pattern is already cut you need to advertise it as a cut pattern and dont leave your buyer to find out the hard way.

Directions hard to follow
First they don't tell you which version of the outer wear is the Jacket or the Coat. Some text next to the illustrations would help. Second, they combine the instructions for both. Third they need to indicate which pattern piece they are attaching to one another. No numbers were involved except when cutting. There are seems to be the assumption that one is using the same fabric for all pieces so the Jacket and the coat are laid out together. Ugh. This is a terrible pattern to take instructions from. I didn't purchase this from Amazon, I bought it from a brick and mortar store.
