6 Wurkin Stiffs Magnetic Power Buttons for Magnetic Collar Stays Use with Metal Collar Stays

Magnetic collar stays is a million dollar idea that I wish I would have come up with. When Wurkin Stiffs came up with this, it literally changed my life. I never wore dress shirts without button down collars. I can’t stand when the collar flies out. After getting these, I wear nothing but dress shirts without button down collars and it looks great amd clean and I, in turn, feel great.When Wurkin Stiffs came out with the colored silicon covered magnets, I thought that was an awesome idea. I wasn’t crazy about having a silver colored magnet so visible against my white shirt, or really any colored shirt. With the colored silicon, wear a white shirt, use the white magnet. Wear a black shirt, use the black magnet. The first iteration of these colored magnets was perfect. They were sized perfectly, the magnets were powerful and the silicon did not cover the entire magnet. This was a bad idea as I explain below. Not sure why, but they changed the magnets this time around with negative results. The magnet is slightly smaller than the original and now is completely covered in the colored silicon. Why is this a problem? Two reasons:1. The smaller magnet is less powerful than the original slightly larger one. This makes the magnet more apt to fall off the shirt causing for lost magnets at potentially the worst possible times. This might be the idea to keep us coming back, but is not a practical solution and bad customer service if true.2. Completely covering the magnet in the silicon reduces the power of the already smaller magnet exacerbating the issue I previously described. The original iteration of these had the part of the magnet that goes against the shirt free of the silicon allowing the magnet to work to its fullest potential. I figured out that by cutting out that piece of the silicon with an exacto knife so it matches the original version makes it work better.Why they would do this and not realize the drawbacks is beyond me, but it’s still worth the price to have a clean looking shirt collar. I would buy these again. If they kept the design the same as the original, I would have given 5 stars.

These magnets are terrible. The rubber coating causes the magnetic hold to be too weak, and these fall off and get lost. But these if you want to try them out and get upset when they disappear. The original magnets with the regular Wurkin Stiff set are very good...NOT these.

These were a great replacement for my original magnets when I lost them. These are subtle and reasonably flat. They are covered in colored silicone, which provides a gentler touch to your skin while further attempting to blend in with one's shirt. The silicone makes them harder to pull apart, though, so my recommendation is to store them with something between them or in separate parts of your jewelry box. Otherwise, you will spend extra time getting ready in the morning pulling them apart. One other thing I might have liked were if they came with a gray-colored pair rather than a black-colored one. Perhaps I'm uncommon, though, in that I have more gray shirts than black ones.

I read some negative reviews about the most recent version. I think those are the "airport safe" ones that are covered in rubber. I bought the silver ones, and the magnets are so strong I had to struggle to get them apart. If you are worried about magnet strength, definitely get the silver set.

I have been wearing wurkin Stiffs for several years now and my original magnets just bit the dust. These plastic coated ones are garbage, they dont even try to hold fast. In the first week I lost one of each of the colors because they couldnt stay put. What a terrible idea and a waste of $$. Stick to the tried and true, plain metal magnets

I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't buy again. Coating on the magnets is too weak/flimsy. The magnets are annoyingly packaged such that you have to separate each each with a knife - yes, this is visible from pics but magnets are so strong when put together they're extremely difficult to separate. Only choice was to use a knife...which, despite my utmost care, ended up cutting the coating. I'd recommend just packaging them differently and give a higher score but I've already lost one - first time wearing a set today and one is already missing from the interior of my shirt collar. I expected much more.

Wish I had read the reviews first. Have had the wurkin stiffs stays for 2 yrs. Never had a original magnet fall off without me pulling on the colar first. Misplaced the magnets overy time. Got these without reading just because of the success of the originals. They look good, BUT, the rubber feels like it will peel off when I'm trying to separate them. And holding power is junk. Have had to locate them inside my tshirt 3 times in 1 day due to them falling off. Definitely not up to par.

UPDATE: I thought they were great because of the way they look and blend in with the color shirt you are wearing. I have already lost 3 of these because the magnet is not near as strong as the original because of the rubber coating that is around them. They fall off easily.Original: These are great and better than the regular magnets that come with the original package because these do not crack and they blend in with the color you are wearing!
