An interesting read
I have read other novels by this author but this was an interesting read with all the little twists and turns in the plot. Old houses have always been a fascination for me with all their secret places......

Trick or Treat review
This was a great choice for a Halloween read! It had mystery, creepiness, and horror all wrapped up into a great treat! (pun intended). I love this authors style of writing. She gets me every time I pick up one of her books. She gets you to believe one way and then something totally different comes about. I get sucked in so fast that it is hard to turn away from the book, and it is hard to enter this realm of creepiness at the same time. She brings her readers slowly and steadily to the climax of the story. Leading us a long winding path into horror. I love it most because you can feel your heart starting to thud hard in your chest, your breathing coming faster, you become apprehensive as you feel the impending doom unfolding before your eyes. You want to yell at the characters and telling them "Be careful..." When you experience these things you know you are reading a great tale of terror. The characters are great in this story. At first I was pretty unsure of some of the characters. I was sure I had the story nailed only to find out I was wrong on just about every count. And the Author kept the story moving for me beautifully. Martha, our main character was pretty much my favorite and was a pretty good character. She could get a bit whiny some times, but now that I think about it, she really had reason to be. I don't want to say too much about them and ruin anything so I will stop there. MUHAHAHA....I won't say anything else other than I am glad I chose this to start off the "Spook Season". it was a great choice. If you want that somewhat creeped out, looking over your shoulder feeling, then this is a great book to get that with. She knows how to make her readers expect the worse that can happen, does it happen? The worse that is? Maybe you should read it and find out.

Far fetched premise, but a creepy good time!
A fun spooky thriller! Maybe a touch predictable, but not disappointing. It's good for the type genre it is, and well written. I enjoyed it and found myself staying up WAY too late reading because I wanted to find out what would happen next! Geared for adolescents and young adults. Some of the premise of this story is extremely contrived (leaving two teenagers, a boy and a girl who are strangers to each other, alone in a house in a strange town while the adults are away on an extended trip? Seriously?? And the adults don't even bother to call for days and days on end?? Really?) But, contrived and improbable or not, it's still a rollicking tale with plenty of creepiness and suspense!

Fun Halloween "Haunted House" Read
I read this book when I was kid, probably middle school or junior high, and it was such a fun read. Since it's almost Halloween, I was in the mood for a suspenseful "scary house" kind of book and bought a digital copy on my Kindle app. After all these years, it was still a fun read. It's a simple story with good foreshadowing and some intense scare scenes. It's probably most appropriate for 11-14 year olds, but I enjoyed reading it again as an adult. I'm glad to say the story held up after all these years (about 25 if I'm being honest with myself).

Enjoyed it!
I purchased this book through a recommendation from Marzia Bisognin (Cutiepiemarzia). It was a quick read and I enjoyed the storyline. It reminded me of the Fear Street books from R.L. Stine which I was a big fan of in my pre-teens. I bought this book used for only $1 plus shipping so I thought it was a bargain. It came in good condition and for some reason I find old/used books more charming than brand new ones. I am interested in checking out more books from this author.

Enjoyed the storyline
Okay read. Enjoyed the storyline. A few spelling errors. High school aged readers are fine, but too much use of the word sexy. Kind of overboard. It resembles R.L. Stine's series Fear Street too much. Though, I liked Fear Street a bit more.

Trick or Treat ...Fantastic :)
Trick or Treat was the first Point Horror book i ever read, once I read it I could'nt stop reading them. I loved Point Horror as a teenager, I used to love shutting myself in my bedroom and reading them, they took me away from real life for a while.... at least :)As I said Trick or Treat was a fantastic book and a while back I came across it here on Amazon, it made me smile and had to buy it again to take a trip down memory lane.Wished I had kept all my original books but unfortunately somewhere from being a teenager to a mum in my thirties they went missing (I blame my parents lol)So anyway I have had fun reading these books all over again, I recommend these to teenagers or people of my age who want to go back in time and enjoy their youth once moreThey are a little dated (no mentions of mobile phones) but thats what makes me smile & reminds me thats what it was like back then "gosh I sound like I'm 90 " lolEnjoy x
