Spiritual Ego
Ugh. Don't read this book. It's not the highest truth and not inclusive of the whole truth. About 20% of it is useful and the other 80% is just going to get your spiritual ego all hopped up on the "you can have what you want!" heroine which you ultimately will crash from. There's more for you than this. The "Your Souls Plan" books by Robert Schwartz are so much more revealing, informing and expanding than this mania.

More than messages from "beyond..."
This book is very much more than messages from the Great Beyond. I actually had the thought that the title was created to attract those who seek proof that there is life beyond the grave, but this book offers so much more. Yes, Dooley does provide (channeled?) messages from people who have "passed," but the rest of the information in each chapter is a guide on our True Essence. The author offers another perspective on the nature of our soul and those perspectives can lead to a richer life here on Earth. One tiny complaint... I bought this for my Kindle and the "letters" at the end of each chapter are written in a font with which I had much trouble reading. I appreciate the style of having them look like letters, but an easier-to-read font would have been a better choice.All-in-all, I loved this book. Thanks, Mike!

Is alright.
I was too excited to read this book. I ordered three books and I left this one to read second. Truth is, I’ve been stuck on chapter two forcing myself to read. I don’t like books that repeat themselves over and over by rewording and to make a bulk, unless it is vital for the book flow. I want to continue reading just to see the message and because the topic interests me. Although I don’t agree on some things, I like to read what other people’s beliefs/hypothesis are. The flow of the book is not as neat as I thought it would be. Sadly, I’ve been focusing more on the writing than the message.

Really helpful perspectives -- if you're ready for them
Even if you've been a student of the spiritual take on life, like me, you'll find one or two nuggets in here you had not considered before. The sections were organized well and I found myself highlighting a few passages that were extremely relevant to current life challenges.Don't stop with this or any other book, though. Trying on some new perspectives is a great first step but you have to be careful not to do a "spiritual bypass" and explain away all your pain and traumas philosophically without doing the work of growth. Keep seeking and look for good modalities for forgiving those who hurt you, managing your beliefs, and increasing your self-honesty. Reading and learning intellectually with the mind can never replace feeling and experiencing beyond the mind.

Cheery and uplifting, but not based on logical arguments
Cheery, optimistic and somewhat uplifting. But, although the author promised a "rational approach", there was not a strong logical argument provided. He rarely questions his own "arguments", rarely shows how he reaches his conclusions, and doesn't seem to care for real logical arguments. He provides answers, but a careful reader will reject most of these. There aren't any answers here. If you're willing to look past that, there certainly is a happy, positive, optimistic outlook on life. And it doesn't hurt to hang onto some of that optimism.

Disappointed. Pure conjecture. Nothing empiracle.
Very disappointed. This is nothing like I expected after all the reviews and hype. IMO this book is based on pure conjecture and the writer's own philosophies with no empiracle data to back up his words. This is profiting off the broken hearts of persons who are seriously looking for answers and peace after suffering the heartbreaking loss of a loved one. I'll stick to empiracle research for answers.

read this right after my partner - who lived love - went into spirit
I've been a recipient of Mike Dooley's daily emails from tut.com for years. Loving, funny, wise, exuberant, instructive, short and sweet, the emails were always welcome and opened no matter how full the inbox was. I bought this book perhaps two years ago but never got around to reading it - until now, after my partner died last week. Her name was Allyson and she was my All. I miss her terribly, and as much as I knew how loving she was to everyone, every day, I've been amazed to hear the expressions of deep love and appreciation for her from so many, many people - many of whom had just spoken with her in the days before she died unexpectedly when her generous, loving heart gave out at 54. It's been so helpful to me to read Mike Dooley's book. Anytime would have been fine, but reading it just now it has reaffirmed what I already knew to be true about 'the other side' but also taught me more of what I must do to open my heart wider than ever, to show up the way Allyson did, and to keep my focus on the infinite miracles and beauty that we are an integral part of here on Earth. It reminded me that we humans are Creators of our experiences, and that to be alive is to be love, and to lift others through love. "The Great Spirit will help you if you let you." I wrote that a couple of days after her death, meaning to write, 'if you let it' but seeing immediately that it meant what it said: I am not alone in my sorrow. And then I picked up Mike Dooley's book and found a loving guide, and a reminder that we have eternity to find our way back to each other.

Insightful and thought provoking
Lots of new things in this book that I had never thought about nor been exposed too. For those with open hearts and minds this book could be pretty incredible. For those that believe in the dogmas and traditional beliefs or religions it might be really offensive or hard to swallow. You have to read with an open mind. I felt empowered and uplifted by some of the concepts- very refreshing.

No - there are many other spiritual books out there you could read instead
I ordered this book, expecting it to be heartwarming and to feel inspired (a la "the 5 regrets of the dying" or "5 secrets you must discover before you die"), but the book simply did not work for me.While most of the spiritual principles behind it were not new, the way it came together didn't make sense. - To speak with absolute conviction of existence, consciousness and reality - as well as taking some very big leaps in his claims - and what the departed would like to say, and yet not offer even the slightest hint of explanation of what is the source of his insights? (e.g. NDE, channelling higher consciousness - anything?)- Packaging so many different things together into this book - why? And why specifically these messages and not others?- The so-called "letters from the departed" - again, no attempt at a source or tying it to a specific actual person or story; and the way most of the letters were written felt over-the-top and fake.- Finally, as some others have mentioned - the negativity towards suicide is offputting. I get that he doesn't like it, but with nothing to back his claims, can he really know what is the impact of this in afterlife?

An amazing book
I should begin by saying that currently I'm about 2/3 through the book, so my rating of 5/5 is based on simply that. I do not anticipate a rapid decline however and am currently disgruntled when I have to put it down! It's an amazing book, it offers details about passing over that instantly seem to make everything "make sense". It brings reassurance, clarity and purpose in abundance. The only small detail that I felt uncomfortable with was the fairly harsh(I thought) judgement of suicide, as I think that even that could have been written into the "life script" for the growth of those left behind & affected by it.

LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!
Incredible book. Just so awakening to read. I have told so many people about it. Have got myself some more Mike Dooley books now as he's a great writer. This really is a man that found his true purpose. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

Who says?
An enjoyable read, written in a fun, easy style. However, it seems to rumble on with 'facts' delivered one after another, but no reference to their source. There are hypothetical letters from dead people too, and I would have liked to see some sort of explanation as to where the author gets his theories from. That said, many of the ideas are ones I have seen before and I believe they are valid, and this book makes them into fairly light reading. On the whole I would recommend this.

Terrible book. Nothing but a lot of ideas thrown ...
Terrible book. Nothing but a lot of ideas thrown together with very little to back it up. Rather than being full of explanations this is just someones take on what people who pass on want to say that you may or may not find helpful. I personally didn't and its put me off reading the other books.
