Quality book, easy to follow
Great book, bought for a friend but ended up reading it myself. Love the additions about the culture and language quirks. It’s worth buying. Warto kupic!

A Good Start
Interesting peek at Poland but way too many pronouns and words that change constantly to agree with pronouns, gender, and quantity. Best use is using to read about customs and manners rather than learning a language. AND no listings of Polish swear words that I learned as a child in a partly Polish Chicago neighborhood.

I would recommend it.
The only thing I need in addition to this is some kind of audio recording so I can properly tell how to pronounce words and phrases. This book has been a great help otherwise. I would recommend it.

It's a very good book. Of course
It's a very good book. Of course, as it's for "dummies", the explanation (of grammar) are shorter as possible. However, this book contains a lot of example, very useful vocabulary, the most important words or phrases are remarked and highlighted and suitable audios that helps to understand everything. Moreover, the author tells you some Polish anecdotes, tricks or culture stuff that develop a better understanding. The only problem with this book is that, as all lesson are not organized correctly, you can start with any lesson you want, so, some important details may be missed if you had not studied Polish before. So, if you want to learn Polish easily using this book, you should study some basic stuff before.

Outstanding Introduction to Polish Language
This book is not for dummies, but it is excellent as an introduction to the language. It was a fabulous help as I prepared for travel to Poland. The book includes a CD that presents all-aural examples and a text that explained all the basic grammar, with essential vocabulary lists and sample sentences. I was exceedingly well-prepared for travel, having used this in conjunction with other media. Does not say the sentence in English, only Polish, but gives the situation or context. I used it for several months of listening to train my ear whenever I drove anywhere, before beginning to take notes from the book. The notebook that resulted was most helpful, even after I was in the country. Ms. Gabryanczyk has done an outstanding job of presenting practice in initial aural immersion and written practice.

Good
This is a good book and a great deal of effort has gone into it. Of course to learn Polish, you will need more than one book. I also like the Teach Yourself Book: "Polish - A Complete Course for Beginners," by Nigel Gotteri and Joanna Michalak-Gray There are a few editions of this book. The one I prefer is an older version, available used. The ISBN number (which you can type in under Books) is: 0-8442-3704-3. It's available used for around $6 (as of May 2017). One of the reasons I like this book is because most of the translations are quite literal, which I think is important if one is trying to learn the language.

Waste of time and money
This is an appalling book. Under the pretence of making learning Polish easier, it makes the task more difficult than it need be and much less fun.The structure makes no sense. The division into 6 parts does not correspond to anything meaningful. Part II is called "Polish in Action" while Part III is "Polish on the Go". In the material there is no meaningful differenciation. Part V "The Part of Tens" with "small, easily digestible pieces of information about Polish" and "useful Polish expressions" is an unattached limb. The use of icons to identify the nature of different sections is arbitrary - "Remember", "Tip" "Introduce", "Show how to use", "Practice", "Move on". These labels invoke a structure and direction that does not exist. The book is instead a lengthy manual dumped on the learner. When needing to refer to material about a specific language question, the user has to spend time flicking through pages. For example, on "Dative case endings" there is no consistency or predictability about where tables are found. For the Genetive case endings you need to seek out "The case of the Genetive Case". Desperately seeking to make things sound exciting leads to obfuscation.Dialogues actually showing language use, entitled "Talk the Talk", are few in number and short. In summary, this is a poorly organised compendium of grammar, vocabulary lists and phrasebook. There is no guidance on how to learn. No exercises apart from a handful of "Fun and games".The title is apposite. I feel like a dummy for buying it.

disappointed
Bought the book on the basis it came with a CD which will be great to learn from and as its a 'Dummies' book i expected the CD to start off with the basics of language and teach you more complex sentences. The CD was rubbish, in no way is it for beginners as it basically is different scenarios of conversations at advanced levels and gives no time to listen and then repeat, just repetition and the conversations wouldnt be what you would use to start off speaking polish. So not impressed with the CD at all and as a main reason for buying im a bit disappointed with this.

Makes it easy to learn
Previously I have been deterred from using this series as no one likes being called a dummy! But this book does break down the Polish language into easy learning bytes, without making it childish as so many language series do. There are no exercises to do but clear guides on pronunciation and words in Polish which are similar to their english counterparts which helps to build up your language skills. It doesn't get too hard too quickly which is a bonus, yet provides you with a sound basis of the grammar and vocabulary to understand Polish and make yourself understood when you visit Poland. Work through this at your own pace or dip into sections as you wish in conjunction with the audio CD and you will be speaking effective Polish quickly..

Polski Dla Manekinow- polish for dummies !
I would disagree it's for dummies, it's pretty difficult and hard going, could be made easier. More like an advanced level.

Waste of time and money :(
This book was not for beginners and went from reciting sounds to numbers and straight to full on conversations without even teaching me to say hello, please and thank you. Waste of time and money. I'm glad I wrote it off and bought a better product.
