My favorite sardines! The only canned sardines I eat. So yummy!

As a person who would swear that they could not possibly eat sardines, I am surprised and blown away by these sardines. The doctor I listen to for my Keto diet, strongly recommended adding sardines to my diet for multiple health benefits. I was dreading this addition to my diet but am pleasantly surprised. This brand, in particular, is amazing AND they have the skin and bones where much of the important nutrients are. I am definitely a fan of Matiz sardines!!

This was my intro into the world of sardines outside of the costco brand "season", which aren't very good. I was pleasantly surprised to how good these were. 3 big meaty sardines, with 2 piri piri peppers to compliment the sardines with a nice spicy but not over powering bite. They went great with salads or just eaten plain for my breakfast.The only thing that Matiz could improve upon is the can lid, as the lid is one of those types of lids that are hard to peel all the way back off w/o making a huge oily mess. Lastly, add a few more of those piri piri peppers in there.. 2 was just a tease (;5/5 great product, will probably buy again in the future.

I used to purchase Chilli flavored sardines in the supermarket but they don't stock them anymore. They weren't exactly perfect in flavor since they seemed to tasted like tabasco sauce, which has too much vineager flavor. The chilli flavor in these tins is a better flavor of chilli. I will continue to purchase these sardines in the winter time, since I wouldn't wantto buy canned fish that would sit in a hot delivery truck all day before reaching my doorstep. A good winter purchase.

Matiz are generally fine and they are among the most reasonably priced premium sardines on Amazon. These might be my favorite Matiz, but they still have flaws that will stop me from buying them again. First, not spicy enough. I would recommend Flower and Nuri spiced sardines over these, from a flavor perspective. Second, an offensive amount of scales. Third, even though the pricing is good compared to Nuri and other premium brands, I still don't think they're worth the price.Bottom line: Try these if you are on a sardine taste-test journey, but not a daily snacker.
