Excellent budget fork
Bought this to fix up my wife’s Diamondback Outlook MTB. Now sure, some would question why I would put this fork on a frame that’s not worth as much as the fork itself. Well, I want my wife happy and She loved her frame but not the weight and performance when riding.I put together a list of requirements I had (being a big bike geek myself):LightweightLockoutAir sprungGood brand reputationThis fork meets all expectations. I installed it, got it pumped up for her weight, did some basic adjustments of rebound, reinstalled the wheel and cycled it through its travel a fewtimes. Then I put it on lockout and was amazed. This fork has a better lockout function than most forks hundreds more expensive. I weigh 70lb (185 vs 110) more than my wife and couldn’t compress the fork on lock. Most forks don’t do that. I was also pleased with the fork’s movement through its range of motion. It definitely has good dampening and is not just a pogo stick like most forks in this price range. My wife’s first few rides, she hasn’t stopped saying how nice it is and how much lighter her bike is (literally dropped 4lb off bike between this fork and some new handlebars).I am really impressed by this fork. Now granted, my wife’s no thrasher like I am (I have a Kona Process 111 that’s all set up with SRAM Eagle, DVO fork/shock, etc), but it’s perfect for her needs which include some mild off-roading.Bottom line: looking for a basic trail capable fork with an awesome lockout to allow your bike dual duty as a street rider? This is your new fork

It's a nice 1-1/8" option for those who need to update or replace their fork.
This fork replaced a Manitou Black fork that I got used. The Black was super light but didn't damper anymore and had a tendency to allow the front wheel to pull to the left when braking. I tried to find a Fox fork 1-1/8" used and that just wasn't happening. So I bought this fork. It's a really nice fork. Super light like the Black, aluminum stantions which are a bare minimum requirement, AL steerer as well. I cut about 1.25" off with a Rigid pipe cutter. Super easy with that tool. I replaced the headset at the same time, so I had the star nut and crown race. I'm a big guy so was worried this fork would be too mushy, and it was initially but I dialed the rebound knob at the bottom on the right (as riding) to nearly full forward position. That helped a ton. The instructions that come with this fork do not say anything about adjusting the fork. The lock-out gives this fork enough adjustment to make it a good ride. My fork came with about 100PSI already, so I didn't need to add any. Super light fork, doesn't pull to the left like my Black model did. Well worth the money. Thank you.Just ride this up at Tahoe today and this fork made an unfun bike fun again, so bumping this to 5 stars.

Good Value
I bought this for my son's bike, which had a SR Suntour spring fork that was completely shot after two years and not worth rebuilding. This fork is not high end but works well for the price and is suitable for real off-road riding. One gripe is that the brake cable tie down is on the back of the left side. This may work fine if your front brake is on the right but American style left-front brakes don't route at that angle. The arch is in back so you can't tie to that. I used a zip tie all the way around the lower to hold it which works OK but doesn't look great. Also I wasn't able to find any documentation on what pressure to start with so dialing it in takes a lot of trial and error. As others mentioned you will need to cut it to length and supply a star nut and press it in. For the price, I'd recommend this fork. A huge upgrade from the fork that came with the bike.

Great fork, great value!
I bought this fork to replace to OEM part on my 2013 Specialized Hardrock disc. I’m not ready to buy another bike yet and wanted to make this one last a while longer but the stock fork was riding pretty rough. I’ve only been on one ride so far but it’s made a dramatic difference in he handling and comfort of my bike. Installation was a breeze (had my local bike shop set the star nut for me) and took less than 30 minutes in my garage. If you want a cheap and worthy upgrade to your stock coil fork, this is the one.

The best fork ever!!!
Man this fork is amazing, the performance is great best fork for the price . Super light ... I Recommend to everyone you will not be disappointed .. But you need to either cut it down to size. or just add some spacers ,that's what I did ... and another thing you need to buy a star nut which is pretty cheap..

Great Shock - Great Price
Love the adjustability of this fork and lockout means LOCKOUT which is unlike so many forks costing 2-3 times the price, Mine came with the star washer so that was a nice touch and the steering tube is easy to cut with a standard pipecutter and the bearing surface for the lower was already prepared. This replaced a well worn and loved Manitou Black and was surprisingly a upgrade in both handling and weight

Great value deal to update a frame
For a cheap upgrade for a bike frame with the old straight 1 1/8 head tube, this seems a value packed fork. Bought this for my back up hardtail on an old frame, and does a great job (appears to be a slightly heavier version of the Manitou R7 with a plastic rather than metal adjuster) for xc. The only thing to be aware of is that it took 2 weeks from date of order to delivery on my doorstep. No complaints as the shipping is free, but if you are in a rush, you may have to wait that long to get it.4 stars for performance for the product, and I would give it 5 stars but just haven't used it enough nor for a long enough time to know if it has longevity.Update: 5 stars, great fork for XC use. It's 2-3 years on and I'm extremely happy with it.
