Overall once you get your head around it, it's actually shockingly effective. Being able to adjust what weight the arm will respond to means everything you put on it should work with the right setting. It's very sturdy with a nice reach, and has made laptop use on a couch much more comfortable. While you can type and use a mouse fine with it, I find using an external wireless keyboard/TouchPad added even more comfort. The only cons I'd give it is that the mounting adjust for holding the laptop in place could look a bit more elegant. The instructions aren't great either, it just happens to be mostly intuitive to install if you've ever mounted anything at all.

This is one of the few affordable monitor/laptop arms on the market with an extra long reach.It is well made, looks really nice, and is very sturdy once installed. Installation was simple, instructions were clear, and all necessary hardware was included.Operation of the arm is easy, and it articulates smoothly.Great product!

I use this on my table beside my recliner. I attached a monitor/keyboard/mouse mount to use my laptop. I also used the bar that I already had on the table because where I had space beside my recliner on the table I wasn't happy with.I have days from my fibromyalgia that I can't move much so my computer is close at hand when I want it. I've used it for hours everyday since I got it and it swings up and down back and forth every time I get up. It is a bit bouncier than I expected but it holds well for me to game or surf the web.Overall I would recommend it.

Very disappointed by the fact that I received this product in Black, while all pictures are in Silver. I purposely ordered this one because it comes in Silver.... I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it, but BIG disappointment....

I bought this arm for my laptop. I am nearsighted and need the screen really close to my face. When I get up from my chair, I simply want to push it out of the way. That part works great. However, the laptop is light, so I had to add an ankle weight to keep the arm from raising up constantly. Also, I have to put my legs up on a footstool and rest the contraption on my knee, or else it bounces as I type, and I'm a soft typist! It doesn't have a mouse platform, which I knew ahead of time, so my husband made one on his 3D printer. I was prepared for that modification, but now we need to come up with another modification so it doesn't bounce as I type. Very disappointed, especially given the amount of money I spent. I recommend NOT buying this for a laptop.
