FondX is the preferred rolled fondant amongst professionals & beginners alike. It is very easy to knead, rolls out easily to an 1/8 inch & it is a very forgiving fondant to use. It also has a very smooth Vanilla flavor that is not too sweet & compliments any cake flavor nicely. 1 lb can cover up to an 8" cake.

Allergy Medication in Product
About half way through the bucket, me and a coworker came across an allergy pill embedded in the fondant. Were using it for a gingerbread house contest so theres no risk in terms of some consuming it but was still very disappointing to see it was mixed in where it definitely didn't belong, especially as its medication.Actual product worked well but I would recommend if you plan on eating it since theres been contamination issues.

Not returnable
Arrived after it was supposed to, after the event that the cake was for, so I couldn't use it. The seller doesn't allow returns, so there is nothing I can do. I don't really make cakes that need red fondant very often, so this will probably go to waste. I understand that some sellers may choose to not allow returns, but if the product doesn't arrive as stated there really ought to be some recourse.

Cake decorator of 23 years...
I have never tried Fondx brand fondant before. I always use Satin Ice brand, but they do not carry a brown fondant in the vanilla flavor. Satin Ice's brown fondant is a very strong chocolate flavor. I didn't want that flavor for the cake I was making. So, I found Fondx and thought I'd give it a try. I tried rolling it out smoothly, but I could never get it to roll out flawlessly. It had pits all over it no matter how much I kneaded it. I finally decided to use some Satin Ice in white to mix with it. It was much more pliable and smooth after I rolled it out this time. Fortunately the white fondant didn't alter the color too much, and I got to use the product without losing money on my purchase.

Worst Fondant I’ve Ever Used!
I have a favorite brand, but it’s only imported in white. I needed red fondant, and I find darker colors require to much food color, which changes the taste and texture. So, I decided to try this brand. What a waste! I have covered dozens of cakes and cake drums, so I know what I’m doing. When covered, this fondant has so many air bubbles that form between it and the drum - and I brushed edible glue, as I always do, on the drum before covering. I popped any air bubbles in the fondant when rolling, so it didn’t have them before I covered the drum. No other brand has done this. Also, when used to cover a cake, it cracks on the edges. It also doesn’t have a smooth finish like the other brand I use. You could clearly see the difference when a tier covered in this was stacked on top of a tier using the other fondant.

My favorite fondant
Have tried a lot of fondants, wilton, satin ice, etc and I like this one the best. Easy to roll, doesn't seem to crack like others.

Very Dry
I had read good things about FondX on baking sites, so I decided to give it a try. While I make my own fondant if I have time and the weather isn't hot/humid, I have a couple of brands I like if I'm buying, but I haven't found any that make dark colors that also handle well. I knew FondX offers colors and I hadn't tried it, but I always try white first to see if it's worth taking the risk with color. So, I tried white.I rely on a special two panel sheet to roll my fondant to reduce drying, sticking, over-handling, etc. It also is cleaner. While the FondX didn't stick to the sheets like one brand I dislike, it didn't come off as easily as my preferred brands and homemade. It also failed to produce the sheen the others seem to get when I roll them out in my sheets. I'm pretty quick with getting fondant onto a cake and smoothed out/trimmed, but this stuff was starting to dry out almost instantly. I always have shortening handy to help in case there's premature drying, but this was really bad. I rolled it to a proper thickness, but the drying even caused a few minor tears. For as dry as it was, I actually found that it repaired easier and more seamlessly than other brands, but it was still really frustrating. The elephant skin wasn't as bad as other brands' colored fondants, but I've never seen it this bad with a white fondant that I've colored. The only thing I can think of is that maybe it wasn't as fresh? I know I keep extra fondant around for a while and the white will be more prone to elephant skin if it's older. The taste was good and it had decent mouth feel, but it's not worth buying again or trying colors considering the rapid drying.

Terrible to work with!
I prefer to order pre colored fondant for dark colors. I usually use renshaw but they wouldn't ship in time. I'm not a beginner and I know very well how to work with fondant. This had the worst alligator skin out of any fondant I have ever tried. It was cracking as I was rolling it out. I had to take it off of my cake, mix in some white renshaw and add more black coloring and finally got it to some-what work. I will definitely never buy it again. The only plus I can say about it is it doesn't taste too bad for a heavily colored fondant but not worth it for how terrible it is to work with. Now I have a huge tub left that I will only use for details on little figures.

Worked great to make roses.
I got this fondant to make roses for a wedding cake. The fondant was easy to work with, tasted good and made beautiful roses.
